Rant - Damn U M$ & Xbox

We went into town today, just to have a look around, price some stuff for our garden project. And I was thinking of picking up 2K8 for the 360.

I'd checked on Friday as to when it was coming out and it says 26th October.

Went to Harvey Norman, nope, their order wasnt in....

Went to EB.... nope, they tell me 1st November... WTF...

Ah well, just have to wait a few more days. Not something that's cool, but can't do a thing about it.

Original release date was Oct 23rd.

Just had a look at dstore.com.au (usually very good with their release dates) ... had to be the carrier of bad news ... see for yourself (go Live 2008, Scotty ... its so much better! )

I can't find myself to do it tho Matt. Damn EA was a let down last year, and the 2 Demo comparisons this year has me waiting for 2K8 to come out....

Xbox price drop in time for Christmas

Microsoft will strip down its Xbox games machine in a bid to compete with Nintendo's Wii games console.

The Xbox 360 Arcade Console will look like a regular Xbox on the outside, but the hard drive is being replaced by a 256MB memory card.

The console comes with five arcade games, including Pac-Man Championship Edition and UNO and a wireless controller.

It will retail for $399.95.

Microsoft also is reducing the cost of its Xbox 360 Pro Bundle, which includes a 20GB hard drive, two free games (Forza Motorsport 2 and Viva Pinata) wireless controller, media remote, Ethernet connectivity cable and a complimentary 30-day trial Xbox LIVE gold membership for $579.95.

"We're fully committed to delivering a great Christmas to our customers in 2007. We not only offer our customers a brilliant value high-definition gaming console but also an impressive line-up of over 300 great games from our stable," Australian Xbox Director, David McLean, said.

The Xbox price drop follows Sony's move to offer a cheaper, slimmed down version of its PlayStation 3 games console in the lead up to Christmas.

Third quarter 2007 sales figures from GfK show PlayStation 2 is still the leading games console with 66,228 units sold, Nintendo Wii second with 61,027, Microsoft's Xbox 360 sits in second with 40,467, PlayStation Portable reached 28,374, and PlayStation 3 fifth with 27,533.

2k Games always get pushed back i am to waiting for the game but i'll have Guitar Hero 3 to keep me busy in the mean time. Well it was released in the US today i think but Australia dont get it in til the 7th of Nov.

Xmas sale has to be there coz it's the time we spent money more and every products have to be attractive to buy.. at least, with ur post, we all know xbox is reducing price LOL.. effective way LOL.
