Wow, what a crazy couple of days! Not long after posting our box break yesterday all communication to the outside world was cut. Internet, land line and mobile. We had to evacuate sunday as the water levels from the Boyne river was rising and the tides are all BIG. Got a message alert asking for the evacuation so we did a runner.
Saying all that we didn't end up being affected from the floods at my house, unfortunatly a few houses down had water go through.
In-laws in sunny coast copped a bit as well with water and no power for 2 days now.
Bundy has the worst to come as well, tonight they are expecting the peak to reach them. They already have 15 Military chopper evacuating those on the roofs.
Stay safe guys, crazy amount of water out there.
Clay
P.S: ended up having 1000mm+ in the last 4 days. (hear the Goldy hinterland had that in 24hrs?)
Just spent the day yesterday on the edges of Bundaberg helping an older couple with their house cleanup!
It's pretty devastating to see everything someone owns have to be thrown out. They had a single story house and the water went 2mtrs OVER their roof. You could see the debris in the tops of the trees, even a pallet was in a gum tree.
