Thanks for starting this page Liam
No worries Rob, glad you are ok mate and to al and benny and nvd good to hear also, I knew we must have had some members in the already affected areas... Devastating but good to hear you are all safe and so are your families... There are always going to be some scumbags in times like this but afterwards I am confident we will see a way better side of the qld spirit shine through a lot stronger... All of my immediate family and friends are safe (99.9% sure my car is gone already and no work for the rest of the week) but I am safe where I am, I just hope people have really heard the warnings in the low lying areas, especially those that haven't grown up in brisbane and seen or heard of the floods over the years because even as the skies clear, like al said there is a lot of water coming...
Should also make this for northern nsw too because they have already started experiencing flooding...
do you think this is worse than the bush fires we had last summer?

Thanx mate.Northern NSW is where i have just moved,But the flooding is just a little further down from me.seems i'm in a good spot for now LOL.
I'm going to get to my scumbag story a little later in a day or 2,To much other stuff going on to worry about them for now .
As you said though,These are a few. Most are very special people in times like this & the true aussie spirit shines though.
Glad you & family are OK aswell mate.Sorry to hear about your car though.
I'm in Brisbane but high and safe with my wife. I have family and friends who are either isolated in their homes or rushing to get personal stuff out before the house goes under.
Will probably head to a council depot tomorrow to help fill sand bags or something. Not really safe to go too far without risking getting cut off and not able to get home.
2 completely different tragedies on different scales, both as bad as each other, hopefully the flooding death toll won't be as bad as the bushfire one... One thing that will definitely be similar is the enquiry afterwards! Bligh (usless politician that she is) has already been in somewhat damage control today trying to say that they had adopted measures from the bushfire enquiry in regards to alerts... bollocks! and how they let wivenhoe go from 18% (what a year and a half ago or less??) to 180% now is ridiculous, they should have been doing more controlled releases in the last 6 weeks than they have been. They limited the controlled releases to limit the localised flooding and now... argh there will be plenty of time for blame afterwards, maybe she could use one of her farking stupid pipelines to transfer some water away :lol
Jees mate, really hope you haven't moved into more trouble and things start to improve for youDon't really care about the car too much just annoying that I had the accident on dec19 and thought it would be a write off but no they decided to fix it and I was due to pick it up this friday But looking at the sherwood flood maps the repair centre is already under and by the time it peaks she will be well and truly sleeping with the fishes! Oh well a lot of people a lot worse off than I am...
just found out my aunty and cousin were forced to evacuate there how instantly because the river behind their house is 8 metres from their house now not good
just found out my aunty and cousin lost their house no good
If any of the OCT members in Brisbane need somewhere to stay (family, singles and pets are welcome etc) you are more than welcome to come and stay with the family and I. My numbers are 0400 501 863 or 3803 1819. All you have to do is ask.
