Hello members of OCT, we have all seen the destruction that has occurred from the floods in Queensland. My wife and I discovered that Star FM on the central coast have organized a convoy to carry donations to the flood affected areas. I live in Richmond nsw and there isn't really anywhere to make donations of goods so we have decided to collect donations of goods from friends family and anybody else who would like to help and I will drive these up on the 23rd January to the collection point. If anybody would like to donate anything to the cause and are in the Hawkesbury, penrith or hills districts please contact me. I am willing to come and pick up donations if people are not able to drop them off.
They are asking for donations of the following: non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, baby products,Childrens toys, blankets, cleaning products, and tools. (please no clothes).
If other people would like to collect items from family, friends and local businesses I am willing to pick these up too.
Mate this is extremely generous of you. If you are delivering to any of the small communities west of Brisbane I would be happy to come down and help you. Unfortunately these posts seem to be getting a lot of view but not much response. I hope that some members here can find it in there hearts to help how ever they can.
Mate it's the least I can do. We've had local businesses and friends make dome donations do far. But we need more. Anything helps. So hopefully sone of the people that view this can help. Thanks.
No mate haven't had any luck here. Have collected about a pallet worth of goods from family friends local community. Plus spending the next 3 days picking up more donations across the region. Hopefully we can get a lot more stuff. My sister is in Ipswich and said that she had to show her medicare card to process she had dependents before she was allowed to but milk and bread at local shop. Really bad, wish I could do more.
