PSA Grading Returns - March 2021 Under 500 Modern

Overall a bit flat, but I kinda expected it considering the hasty decision to send away.

11% Gem...at least the two i thought would gem did, so at least my eye is ok. Thought the fanimations were better than that to

Should get the Ultra Modern stuff back next month so look forward to more disappointment

I was expecting a bunch of 7s or 8s the way you were talking, but thanks for showing and congrats on the 9s & 10s!

Sorry for the n00b question, but what does under 500 modern mean?

That was just the category they charge at. Those were $30 or $35 for the PSA Subs Australia Under 500 Modern (Pre 2017) cards.

Obviously the higher you go, the higher the charge. I was confided none of those cards were huge and would attract an upcharge

Pretty good 9 on Fanimations and 90's cards! The Shaq Beam Team looked better than a 7 in hand obviously too I gather??

The Beam Team i knew had a bung corner, but its one of my old hits so i just wanted it slabbed. 8 Might have been better

The Fanimations are clean...disappointed

Awesome to get a 10 on the Tim Duncan RC!

The 9's on the Shaq RC are nothing to be disappointed with either. It's tough to hit a 10 on those.

Yeah the Duncan and that Green Scope NFL were the two i was most confident on.

Yeah, I had that penciled in as a 7 due to centering.

Was stoked with that one. Biggest surprise and it was a last minute addition

nice gem on the duncan!

i still dont get all the new tiers for grading cards at psa..im too old to want to understand but it seems ridiculous...just bust em all out

Nice mate - 7s and 8s would be hard to stomach ut luckily they seem to be few and far between. I'd be happy with a bunch of 9s! What tools did you use self / pre grade?

The Stadium Club and Fanimation are tough to take because they were pretty much pack fresh.

I did nothing fancy to prepare the cards and next time I will be taking more care to clean and check.

If you have any resources for prep, I'm all ears!!!!

Pack fresh would hurt - but those cards have been sitting aroudn for twenty years or so, and having watched a few box breaks pulling damaged cards is now somewhat of the norm.

Obviously there's the centering tool linked below and another centerign app which is bit of a damond in the rough (Deadcenter.App)but excusable because it is free to downlaod and use.

Corners and edges just need a good magnifying lamp and for surface it always pays to use a mcrofibre towl to wipe off any debris / fingerprints etc.

My old man has a good garage setup with lots of lights/magnifying glasses/jewellers tools, so I am going to take my next bunch over there and prepare them properly.

The centering tool looks like a must have!

Can't go wrong with a PSA mailday.

I love the Payton refractor although it does bring back memories of the MJ non refractor I once owned that I sold for less than $30 delivered...

I think one day i will get the Jordan. I absolutely love those cards. Really fun rip that box so might just buy a box and go for gold

I think you did well. PSA aren't handing out the 10s anymore.

I had 5 in the same sub and best was an 8. Brutal.
