i think he didnt know he touched the bails when he went for the 'stumping', and then when he looked back he assumed it was just delayed from the bowl...
only thing i can think of...you wouldnt think he was actually trying to cheat? even if somehow he got away with it during the match, he would NEVER hear the end of it.

don't get into physics here it is possible. If it vibrated the stump just a little and popped the bail up slightly and it landed wrong in the groove it is possible.
Also I think the video is unclear, I doubt he tried to cheat surely no one is that dumb. Just excitement of the moment more then anything.

yeah agreed, with so many camera's etc these days, you would have to be a knob to deliberately cheat. It cliped the bail on the way through but it was his glove that dislodged it in the end. Australia won, stop crying over nothing and try and win the world cup.
I know Australian's are passionate about their sport, but geez, you even cry when your winning? Prior will be on diuretics next..
I have been reading the comments on another site. Most are about other perceived cheating instances going back to the underarm incident. It just becomes another soap box for people to whinge about the Aussies if you're a Pom or NZedder and vice versa. Whether or not Prior is a cheat or not becomes befuddled amongst other whinges. I can't honestly say that I think Prior is a cheat. I think that commentators like Botham who inflame these situations are the ones who should be condemmed.

No worse than Steve Smith. Pieterson hit it back to him, he juggled it, dropped it, landed on it, rolled over it, then picked it up and said to Rauf, "Dunno!!! Did I catch it?!?!? Im not sure?!?!!" Evan Rauf was laughing at him. But his reponse to a clear drop convinced the umpires to double check it.

He took the ball basically on the stumps and he hit the wicket he didn't catch the ball and then take the bails off.

That whole "They are full of South Africans" is the LAMEST argument in the history of man. They qualify to play for England otherwise the ICC wouldnt let them play. Its just a sook for when they beat us. Actually, lately weve been sooking even when we win.

English fans should be too upset at Prior being a cheat anyways.........he's another South African!
