What redtorana has indicated is quite correct, if u look at 1996 Series 1 it was spread over two box releases, the Starter set gave you half of all the commons ie team cards, freshmen, timewarp etc then the Booster set gave the remainder of the base set cards and the three checklists.
The inserts started with the all star team, gamebreakers, 6 x national hero cards then the national hero signature cards (3 cards in each auto set).
Each box release had their own promo card and you could collect Dynamic Footy Points that could be redeemed for cards from Series 2 of 1996. Also available very various other in-person auto promo cards etc from the Comic Convention in 1996.
