Agreed mateAfter considering it early on, I didn’t chase this set and it’s interesting reading everyone’s take on it.
I would be very disappointed if this is what I received for the outlay. It’s been mentioned above a number of times about the perceived value of the original predictors and I get that a card is only worth what someone is willing to pay. However, the rarity of the predictors was a huge indicator in resale price, so for this reason alone, TLA should have made a much nicer set.
As Matt said, they did this to boost sales and have met their end of the deal. Fair enough. But surely you wouldn’t want to annoy some of your biggest customers to the extent where they are considering giving up collecting or the more likely scenario of not bothering to chase sets like this in the future. Therefore, placing a huge reduction on future sales. It’s not smart business. Seeing TLA operate like this, they’ve made my mind up as to whether I would chase a set like this in future - I wouldn’t.
I would also say that despite being underwhelming, if I paid that much for the predictors, I wouldn’t be looking to resell. This is mainly because I don’t see the point in paying that much money only to try to resell something. I don’t think anyone was ever going to get what they paid for this set, but people looking to offload them for ‘unders’ will devalue them really quickly. Look at the damage day trader does on eBay.
Good luck to those who got a set. I hope you get some kind of restitution.
So the same stock crap he replied with to us who emailed TLA to complain....I had an email from Terry at TLA who wanted us to communicate the information below:
Firstly we wish you a Merry Christmas and we would like to thank you for your support of NRL Trading Cards.
We take all collector feedback very seriously and where we can we build that into future releases as you have all seen over the years.
Your detailed feedback below has been noted, and we will address all these points in the 2018 release of NRL Traders.
This will include the review of our policy applying to holograms on cards that do not carry a signature or a memorabilia patch, as long as the edition size is low, we will advise on this next year.
We do not comment on the secondary card market as this is outside TLA’s control.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Regards
Terry Wilson
Matt, as a collector of cards for 48 years, I have seen card companies come and go over he years, I have read every post regarding the piss poor effort on the parallel gold version set.I had an email from Terry at TLA who wanted us to communicate the information below:

Or maybe even a select group of people to forward ideas etc on what people want to see. I would only be too happy to put my hand up for that. Not looking for pay/cards in return. Just happy collectors who have a voice that can or will be heard.Matt, as a collector of cards for 48 years, I have seen card companies come and go over he years, I have read every post regarding the piss poor effort on the parallel gold version set.
As in a previous post, 1 member has said they need a collector's point of view.
Maybe if you asked them, if they want to employ a collector to give there opinions and concepts of what a collector is expecting or is wanting from the products to make them viable for the future, I would take the position, with certain terms, pay rate has to be viable ( HAVE TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD CARDS) etc.

just saying it would be a full time job, you can,t satisfy everyone, that is the job, collating all ideas, contacting people and replys etc. you would not expect someone to put all that time in for nothing, grey hairs and all, just so they can get money for every ones information, that's just not cricket.Or maybe even a select group of people to forward ideas etc on what people want to see. Thoughts @Matt26 @Diggaz TC ?
I think it’s not really a paid position, it’s more a forum based idea that Shaun was suggesting where they could bounce ideas off collectors rather then being an employee of esp/tla.just saying it would be a full time job, you can,t satisfy everyone, that is the job, collating all ideas, contacting people and replys etc. you would not expect someone to put all that time in for nothing, grey hairs and all, just so they can get money for every ones information, that's just not cricket.
Haha, it always was.....So wait, the Tigers predictor I got for $3.99 is now worthless?!?!
Its called bait and switchI agree that yes I got what signed up for technically. But they pushed the gold set as something special which it isn't really.
Done to drive sales. That's a very short term win, because I'm not signing up for another kick in the balls next year. I assume many others are feeling the same.

Just out of sheer curiosity..... what have they done to "bait and switch" are you able to elaborate?
Cheers
Matt
Yes I am, but not with you
That's fine we are all entitled to our viewsFair enough......I have a lot of issues with things that TLA does but on this occasion I just don't see how what they have promised and what they have delivered are different?
I gathered that Paul, And I would second that idea any day of the week.I think it’s not really a paid position, it’s more a forum based idea that Shaun was suggesting where they could bounce ideas off collectors rather then being an employee of esp/tla.
That way we have a say in what we like or don’t like going forward
Dave, you must have big balls, that was a hefty kick, and it cost you plenty.I agree that yes I got what signed up for technically. But they pushed the gold set as something special which it isn't really.
