I have been having a run of bad luck the past couple of weeks , it started with bets then tips then work then my health but now one of the biggest potential bad lucks - our 14 week pregnancy. We had the translucency test done last week and the blood test which accompanies it. The translucency (ultra sound) came out with good odds of 1 in 2373 of down syndrome (very good odds) but once the blood test came back we are now 1 in 38 :( . Today we had amniotesthis - they stuck a needle into my wifes stomache which penetrated the baby's sack and withdrew some water from the placenta (the water the baby is incapsulated in. This test will confirm the baby is healthy (i hope and pray) , otherwise it will be the worst news of our lives.
We had problems with our first born (hospital stuff up :mad: ) and it nearly cost my daughter her life ( we beat odds of 90% chance of brain damage) to have a very healthy girl.

We will get the results on Wednesday when i hope to post very good news here. We are remaining positive as thats all we can think about.
 
Good luck with it all Ace....i wouldnt read into the tips and betting bad luck, as if that was the case i am the unluckiest man on the planet ;)
 
Yeah, sounds like a nasty run of luck, obviously with the most recent bit being the most major. Good luck with everything, champ! Hope it all works out for you and your family. It's ironic how stuff always seems to happen in runs, and when you get on a bad run life seems to really suck sometimes. But hopefully things work out and you get back in the winners circle soon!
 
good luck man i know theres nothing more important in life then ur own kids, even b4 they r born i know from experience the bond that is formed so wishing u and ur family the best of luck dude
 
good luck with everything Ace...i know the feeling with things that might be wrong with a pregnancy, we were getting all sorts of tests at the start of this pregnancy, but everything turned out fine, and im sure it will with your situation too..
 
Thnx guys, it means a lot. We really believe we have a great chance of beating it and as the doctor said, we have 37 chances of success and 1 chance of bad news.

Hopefully everything works out well with this pregnancy; things may seem as if they are going bad at the moment, but they will work out in the end.

hey ace, just want to wish you goodluck with the baby. You are in my prayers, i'm sure everything will work out fine. You have a great community here that will support you no matter what!
 
Yeah best of luck mate. Our wee fella isn't having it easy, poor kid has a gunked up eye that'll need an operation but they have to wait a year to see if it heals itself - he wakes up with it sealed shut some mornings. Anyway - I'll be hoping to hear some good news from u shortly. - As for the tips/betting - that's easy - stop doing it. U will have more $ for the kids/cards!!!!
