i dont personally think posting a common set in padded evelopes is viable.
I would suggest wrapping the entire stack in paper and taping it up firm. then placing it in a suitable cardboard box with some padding.
surely you could work out a good way to protect the corners / edges when you wrap it
Use the australia post calculator to work out your shipping cost, (under 500g is $6.60 i think from memory)
then over i think is $8.65, either way it still has to be safer and cheaper than using several bubble mailers to get them there.
I have all of my common cards (NRL and AFL) sorted into 12 card team sets, inside team bags and taped down firm. If i sell a base set (16 / 17 teams) i can easily fit the required team bundles into a 160mm x 230mm padded bag. Tape the team bags into sets of 4 and they fit firmly with no movement.
Agree with ACS......Get some cardboard card boxes....you can get them online. Then pad out the box with some bubble wrap or paper to ensure no movement.
I then wrap the box in bubble wrap and send in a red 500gm Aust Post satchel.
Thanks guys. I'm glad I asked such a noob question. I'm looking to sell sets, but my only experience was buying the common 2009 afl select set. The cards came wrapped in paper (to hold them together), placed in a bubble mailer.
Just don't want to hike the price up on delivery for buyers by going the satchel and box. but I also don't want to send crappy, broken cards. So again, cheers guys!
LOL, Marcus, sure has been a long bloody time that's for sure! I got the itch for collecting again (still got my Harris PC - minus a few I sold/traded, my 90's stuff and now I'm into AFL cards!), and what better place to talk to people about it! (among other things too).
Without hijacking this thread, the forums look bloody fantastic, and there's stacks of people on here talking pretty much anything. It's pretty awesome I'd say! A few familiar faces of course, but a LOT of new faces!
