I've done my back so I can't get to the post office to find out so I pose this question. What would it cost roughly to send a $1500 card insured to the u.s?? Do I have to pay gst on it or anything like that? Any help would be appreciated.

There is a registered post international padded envelope which I usually use for all international high end. It costs $22-23 and offers tracking via USPS once it arrived in the states. Also, you can purchase delivery confirmation which is a separate card that they will get the receiver to sign and post back to you for an addition $2-3

Hi mate, can't exactly remember but i'd say between $50-$70 registered with insurance. I usually post with a padded envelope and fill out a insurance article form for how much you want to insure for. Haven't posted a card of that value for a few months now so can't quite remember the cost. But i think for registered it's around $26 to start of with before insurance.

Mate try 13 POST (13 76 78). I cant remember postage costs, frig Ive done a fair bit of insuring for higher amounts too lol.

Unless things have changed in the past 6 months registered post only insures up to $100 international. If you want full insurance up to $5k the only option is express courier international which costs $50au plus extra for the insurance. You can see prices for the insurance on the Auspost website ;)
