shipping to Australia would be $3.50 if payment is sent
thru the mail...if payment is made thru Paypal would have
to send it registered mail for our protection....that would be
in the neighborhood of $9 plus....any other questions
please let us know

what is this guy on about??

There's a few of them that are like that. Mainly because of their bad experience in the past that the mails they sent overseas got lost and the buyers are asking for a refund.

If we pay using paypal, they are oblige to refund us in case the mail got lost. Basically they want registered mail to send overseas.

So if we want cheaper postage ($3.50 unregistered), they want us to pay using money order. If the package gets lost NO one (like paypal) will force them to refund our money...

I hope this will help you understand them... If we dont want to pay for registered mail then we go look somewhere else...
:D

Its simply for one reason. We are all unconfirmed addresses. If the seller ships normal mail and you say you didn't get it and file for a chargeback you will 99% of the time win the appeal. If the seller has a reg number for the shipping then paypal will mostly find in the favour of the seller.

They are simply covering themselves from false claims of non recieving and chargebacks.

Hey guys, here is another classic response from a retard in the USA that responded to me when I asked about his postage costs:

Remember what goes into computing shipping costs -- actual shipping costs,
packing material, gas to get to the post office, wear and tear to my car
getting to the post office, my time, my time which I could be spending
earning more $$ at work, pay-pal fees, e-bay fees, time to place the
auction, time to fill out all of those forms (customs, address labels, other
postage forms...) You know, Paul, it is not some random number I pull from
the sky -- it is postage and handling which is both fair to the buyer and
seller.

Now I know for a fact that eBay state you are not allowed to offset their fees in your postage costs.....I won't even try to argue against his other BS !

i would rip the shit out of that guy richo, what a wanker.

i particularly love the bit

like your wasting his precious time by bidding on his auction lol, jesus why are there so many complete wankers out there selling cards in the US?

Im in a dispute with a dick from the states. I won 3 of his cards and cos i wanna pay by paypal he has decided to chagre me $12.70 US for confirmed shipping. I have told him that all i want is the cards and i dont intend to pay that money ofr unnessary charges. My ebay feedback tells you the story i am honest, he has since chosen not to reply lol.

Good luck, some sellers are pretty firm, and not always willing to negotiatie prices...

Sucks for us buyers!!!!

I always send em Global Priority links, and say I'll pay that, plus the few bucks to insure/register, which is usually about $13US all up. If ur gonna bitch that the card goes missing, pay the full cost... better to be safe...

dude, it's ebay, people try and charge you $15 international for a single card, they'll make exscuses up and lie, you just gotta ignore it or set them straight but most of the time they won't wanna hear what you gotta say.

I just think u gotta ask shipping costs way in advance - if they're gonna charge $15 - factor that into how much u bid...obviously u can't bid as much but stiff sh*t. I always suggest a price for shipping when I ask - usually $3-4 but up to u I say and most of the time they charge $4 or say GP at $5.50-$6

I understand US sellers paypal stance. Don't they have to pay $150 each time someone says the shipment was lost or something? Imagine losing that each time some slug said they didn't get the card...

i agree buddy! if postage is $15 for a $100 card and i can win the auction for $85 when i planned to bid max $100 for maybe $3-$5 postage then i'd go for it.
