Hey guys, gettin tired of the post whore thing. i know it's not offensive but lay off it a bit, some of you are taking it too far, besides, Mavsman is the ORIGINAL post whore, everyone knows it and he's proud of it! :cool:

I hope this doesnt become a big issue mate, because you are a valued member of this Board
I dont think it's so much the number of your posts per day, but the fact that some of them are just
"Nice Card"
"You know it"
"I agree"
I mean sometimes you do some good work, with College Stats and that, and hey you really know your stuff there mate - so that is great
Keep up the great work there buddy
I think maybe just cut back with the posts which add little to a thread
 
Yeah Jimbo I've got no problem with you posting as much as you want if its generally more than one sentence etc. I know when you agree with people and all the points have been made already its hard to add more but.

Don't forget Leobear was the first post whore. Maybe get him back here and the heat will be off you a little LOL.

I think sometimes that 'nice cards' posts are pretty worthless. Even if you don't know much about a player or card its not hard to say why you think its nice or show some enthusiasm for the collector being happy etc.

Thats not directed just at you though Jimbo. Its not worth getting upset about though.

This place wouldn't be the same without you dude :-)
 
I can see this going to the Heated section, personally i couldnt care less about how many posts people have. I find people like Chads posts very informative and enjoyable to read. But thats just my opinion.
 
Nah no need to turn this into a heated thread. I hope it doesn't turn into that. Heated threads are heated threads. Flaming someone is totally different. I'll lock it down if it goes that way ;-)

Post count doesn't mean anything like you guys have said. Funk says little compared to most but knows his stuff for eg.
 
The answers very simple...put in a chat box for mindless dribble.. which ill admit can be amusing and people can change subject etc at will.
I say without these so called post hogs this place would be pretty boring...
you see 8 to 10 people here,hit new posts..and nothing !!!
Must admit ive posted a fair bit latly,,AND LOVING IT !!!:D

it just becomesd "annoying" when you browse this place like I do, just purely using the "new posts" feature...so when I look and an interesting thread has new replies but its just "nice card" its kinda like shithouse...but your cool jimbo
 
My join date is wrong. The rest of you i'm not 100% sure on. So my post count per day is wrong.

Who gives a fat rats really about the amount of posts people have, or howmany they make each day.

What shits me really, (this is not targetting 1 person, but a few who do this often) is when ya see a mailday response "nice card" "awesome card" "sweet card" etc etc etc...

Hands up who agree's it's just a waste of a response??? (I've got my hand up).

I know that most people here collect a WIDE range of totally different cards, styles, players, teams, etc. But when it comes to responding to someone's mailday, couldnt we show a little more initiative and to congratulate them on thier new additions, rather than commenting half-heartedly????

My rant.....OUT.
 
I think this is the lesser of two evils. You have people coming here and enjoying the place, and as such, feeling like they want to contribute to discussion (I agree on the "nice card" posts though... they're annoying).

The greater of two evils is that people don't contribute much at all, which makes the boards look dead and consequently, canbe off-putting to someone who has just joined.

Food for thought.
