Poorly packaged cards

Got some cards received from a trade on here today, 2 * Jersey cards, not a top loader in site, just two cards in penny sleeves in a padded mailer.

WHO SHIPS LIKE THAT?

How hard is it to use a top loader, or if the card is too thick, tape one to the top and bottom?

Poll time, who thinks this is acceptable and should I name the offender?

The only time I have ever accepted cards not in a toploader is when it was a redemption card, scratch version cause in the end, as long as you can scratch, who cares. But this ain't acceptable.

Name and shame. A thread was started specificly about this, how to send cards. They deserved to be left a neg and hopefully will learn from it.

Even if i run out of toploaders i still use thick cardboard on both sides...... i hate damaged cards (i got a similar package today).

I think its best to raise it with the member and if the cards are damaged the get compensation or a refund and cancel the deal.

I dont think Naming and shaming will help but if the other member refuses then name and shame away.

Personally, I would discuss the issue with the other member; if they dont admit they have done something wrong or try and fix the situation, I would inform the admins (Hill33, Chadjaja and Magicman) and hopefully they can get something done.

From what Ive seen on the boards, things like led to people feeling picked on, and they lash out; it leaves a bitter taste in people's mouths.

Just my thoughts; feel free to retort.

I have pm'd the other party and won't resort to feedback / public naming pending a reply, but glad to see most ppl think I am not being unreasonable about asking items to ship adequately protected

I disagree with part of it. Problems are best dealt with by informing Admin as fastbaja has but the little amount of time he left me to respond before posting here isn't right.

This heated discussions forum isn't meant to be here as a forum to just name names etc. Issues are better dealt with than like this and we have a feedback system for a reason. Members that don't do the right thing get a neg and those that continually do the wrong thing get booted from trading rights. 3 strikes and you lose the privilege.

All threads like this do is blow up situations more than they need to be.

A neg will be left, member will be contacted and issue dealt with. I simply suggest that members also look at a members feedback before trading etc. Thats why the system is there. Otherwise we might as well scrap it and just have a bad trader thread where some wont have the chance to redeem themselves or learn etc and a chance to be a productive member of our community.

You received the cards today. Personally, I would wait for a few days and see what the other trader will say/do about it.

Shaming someone is really NOT what we want to encourage here... We want members to feel comfortable and staying as members...

Remember, we all make mistakes... I hope the other trader will learn from this one.

i will admit the offender is me.as i have only just logged on today and got his pm.as i said to fastjaba i sent 4 other packages on the same day and they all where in top loaders.i must have just forgot to put his cards in top loaders.they where in a penny sleeves and in a team bag and sent in a padded envelope.i have said to him if he is not happy return the cards to me and when his cards arrive i will return them to him.
if he checks out my feedback and seen i have had no other problems.i think people on this site are very quick to start threads asking people advise and starting polls without giving people the right of reply. instead of sending pm's just saying why pack so poorly not cool.i did not do this on purpose and if he feels it deserves a negative well that's up to him and nobody else.and there is a right way and a wrong way to handle problems.
i agree with chad and what he said above.
ask anybody i have dealt with on this site and i have always sent packages the way i would like to receive them.one mistake and all of this crap happens.

Have spoken to Tony on PM, honest mistake, shit happens, I am happy with it and have no intention of leaving neg unless ordered so by an admin

well, that's why i didn't say a word before both party has spoken, happened to me a couple of times here and many members will give the verdict before hearing both side of the story.. it could happen...

my point of view?? there's no need for negative feedback, I mean, if it is a mistake, you can forgive the other person... We are not here to stress or judge other people.. I used to receive white envelopes from other members here before, I politely told them to send in padded envelope because the admins strongly suggest to use them, as well as, without protection, the cards are in very high risk of being damage....

Last week, i received white envelope with A4 paper wrap for some of the autos.. I would politely tell them not to send in envelope, and if they do not care, they will pay their consequences... but this case, it was just a mistake, and i think we all can get over it and move on, I know Tony wouldn't just send you without top loaders... I mean, it's no meaning to send in padded envelope without top loader.... (admins here do not even permit card saver, but i am still fine with anyone sending me with card savers, because if it is sent carefully, sandwiched with other cards, card saver is also good with me)

It's not good to follow standards and protocols, but it wasn't intentional... so....

Hope you can sort it out...

Well, I don't think u made any mistakes at all. you are just asking for opinions and different perspectives... but I think it's best to deal the two parties involved first, without going public... coz it hurts the other person...(not because of you, just because of some other comments made without knowing who.. psychologically, people wouldn't mind giving comments if they don't know who it is)... that creates awkward situations between members later on...

I once was in Tony's situation, i wanted to return the card i received, but the seller posted a thread on message board, and other members are just being thoughtful, so, there were many unnecessary comments were made, but it was me who is asking for return... because i felt the card is not as described and I will also return it on my cost, also will pay the difference of postage and listing fees.. but other members thought i was trying to rip the seller off, even the seller didn't think so... because they didn't know it was me..

that's why i didn't say a thing in the first place and it would hurt the other person unintentionally, coz sometimes, we didn't expect this kind of reception as being unknown person.....

the best solution, deal with the other person involved first.. if not or..
if you want to solve the problem instantly..i would PM to admins, they are very helpful and they stand by what they say and mean..
