Poll Regarding Prices and Pictures in For Sale threads

Ok myself and a lots of others are tried of people not putting prices in for sale threads. They say PM best off, you do and they get back saying no its too low i want this

I think it should be mandatory to put pictures and prices for each item. I know lots of other sites do this what do you all think of the idea?

I think it will stop lots of members wasting time PM prices only to get knocked back

Agreed! While I understand why people do it, it doesn't help buyer or seller!

I buy a lot of non PC randoms if I like the price, but don't even give a second thought to a thread with no prices!

On Blowout, if you are selling, you must have a price. If trading you don't, obviously. I like that rule!!

hard to say - id say yes to prices unless of course, its a hard to figure a price on it ie: low numbered.

pics - i dont mind so much, as some people dont have the time to scan everything they are trying to sell. i find a pm asking for a pic usually yields a good result for the card im enquiring about

I think in theory it's a good idea, sometimes though, I sell off a heap of base rc's parallels, cheap inserts etc, everyone knows what they look like, I can provide pics when asked, but too time consuming to post all pics. So maybe pics mandatory over a certain sell price?

And with the price. I agree it is much better and less frustrating to have a price there. Makes it a lot easier to make deals quickly, by what about if you pulled some sick low numbered or 1/1 card from a box, maybe there's nothing on eBay to gauge an appropriate price, but obviously you want to try and get the best deal you can for this card, isn't that the kind of situation where asking for offers is somewhat acceptable?

If its a 'hard to figure out' price, then how is the buyer able to come up with a price? Even if a seller asks for offers, they have to know what offers they would accept/decline, so why not just post it to begin with?

Because, as a seller, you are hoping to have many bites on an item on which you are selling. If you have 4 offers ranging from say $100-$250, you can then take the $250 one. Plus, ive had some offers on my Bullion Brand that were about the same amount, thus giving me a rough idea of what i would fetch for it. If i was to hazard a guess, i would of expected more for it, but asking for offers basically gives you a 'market value' on what it is worth by showing how much people are willing to pay for it.

Yeah, I get what you mean, but just remember, you are not going to work out a 'true market value' just by listing on OzCards! If you want to get 'as many bites as possible', go to ebay. The reason why cards fetch higher prices in eBay s because thee is WAY more buyers on there. Maybe there isn't anyone on here that collects the player you are selling? So why would you expect to get eBay prices?

I think the 'offers' thing is just a way to play buyers off against each other, and personally, I wouldn't even make an offer unless it was something I really wanted!

If you listed your Bullion tag for $350 obo you would soon realise what offers are out there.

Perhaps there is a happy medium??? I don't know?? But I think in most cases, listing the price helps both the buyer and seller!

I hear what you are saying, but some of us are lazy (me) and cbf putting cards on ebay - i mean, ive had a sale thread that has sat dormant for ages cos i couldnt be bothered bumping it lol.

Well, the 'obo' is a good way to see what people offer, but sometimes having a price which you have determined yourself, can be too high and the casual buyer will be put off by it. Besides, i think we are pretty much agreeing. We both think that prices should be included..

I really like the rule on BO of prices if selling and none needed if trading. Some may abuse it and say they are trading when they really are selling but apart from a few douchebags over there I feel it really works.

Saves people being offended or wasting a persons time low balling offers.

I also think to help with rarer cards there should be a blanket rule that any card numbered to /5 or less doesn't have to have a price and is open to offers. Anything higher than that and you should be able to find a comparable card to base a price on or a price you would be comfortable with.

Pics.......... well thats really up to the seller. If there are pics things will sell better and faster.

Another idea is maybe having two FS sections on here. One that it is 100% mandatory to put prices on in and one where you can field offers. At least then the buyer/seller know what they are in for.

Just some random thoughts

Yeah, I get the CBF side, especially with the 21 day hold on funds bullocks! I think Heath is in the money! Compulsory price for anything over /5 or maybe /10??

I had 1 last year ..i made an offer and he replyed...can you hold on for a few days incase i get a better offer !!!
At least he was being honest unlike most who do it..
Needless to say...i dont bother anymore

Sorry guys, I went with no here...

I have had a few sale threads on here lately where I am selling off cards to raise funds for my wedding. Basically I want as much money as possible to put towards the wedding, and that means accepting the best available offer. Sure, I can list cards on eBay where I sell for 'x' amount OBO, however, I then pay eBay fees, I have no idea who I am dealing with and I am worried about getting scammed because I am not a frequent eBay seller (or seller in general). Basically, I have more confidence in completing a successful deal, where both the buyer and seller are happy on here, than on any other sites.

I don't know if it's just me or not but if I make my 'best offer' to someone and still get knocked back, then I wouldn't buy the card even if it had their 'wanted price' on it anyway. Furthermore, this hobby is something that I expect to take up time, therefore sending someone a PM only to get 'knocked back' is all part of the hobby if you ask me.

Went with yes and I like heafy's idea of anything less than #d /5 (or even /10) are the only ones that can field offers.
Plus I can't think of any other real world instances that doesn't require you to price the stuff you're selling.
