Politics in sport. Sport in politics.

I was shocked when I heard this, the board meeting is held in Singapore because Mugabe can only enter a few countries if he's lucky, Singapore being one.

The comments Howard made in the past has to be the reason behind this decision, they say it's not personal but I think it was.

If Zimbabwe had oil reserves the US would have invaded the country years ago. It is an utter disgrace that this despot is still stealing oxygen from the world.

Matt you are spot on - rejected by at least 6 of the 10 Test-playing nations! Unbelievable result, I really am stunned. Then again, the ICC is a joke wielding no power at all unfortunately. Howard would have offered a lot to a very lightweight organisation.

A sad day for cricket.

I think it is a DISGRACE what the ICC have done....reverse racism at it's best IMHO!

Former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi says the way Mr Howard's nomination was rejected by the ICC was crude and may have harmed the game.

He says Indians need to look at themselves before calling others racist.

"You know we Indians are the biggest racists in the world. If you look at the daily newspapers, the number of killings that are going on in the name of race and caste and all this rubbish," he said.

"It's unreal. What are we talking about?"

And as for Zimbabwe........why are they even allowed to be part of the ICC?
A facist dictatorship with very little cricketing talent anyways......yet they sway South Africa to side with them agaianst Howard......what a joke!
