Photo Editing Software

I USED to use Microsoft Photo Editor, but since I've had my new scanner home, I've not been able to get the damn program to pickup my scanner.

I've installed it exactly the same as I did on the Notebook, but it won't work on the Desktop, like it does on the Notebook.

It has it's own Scanning Software (some HP crap) which is just that, crap.

After something new that people have little problems with, and can do all the same jazz with, that most other apps can do.

Any recommendations......

Must have Scan Image function (like Photo Editor).

Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro are easily the best i've worked with..but they are expensive...*wink*

Yea Photoshop Is great For photo editing.

I picked up Photoshop 9. I read that 10 was a down-grade.

Will give it a whirl tonight.

EDIT:
I think there's something wrong with my install.

I can scan using HPs own software, but not a 3rd party....
