I've sold tickets on ebay a few times (state of origin, Blues & roots festival) and we you buy the tickets, they dont actually have your name on them so anybody can use them.
just a note with the state of origin tickets....last year the NRL started cracking down on it, (reselling them) because it specifically states on the back of the ticket that you are not allowed to resell the tickets for higher than face value. this is true for pretty much every ticket sold by Ticketek but it is very rarely enforced. the NRL as far as i know actually have someone full time cracking down on it!!
I PERSONALLY HATE SCALPERS. I do however see that there is a need to be able to sell tickets for various reasons. I just hate it when people buy them just to resell
this is the best thing with tickets:
Change # 4 Once you have completed the ticket transaction, your name and date of birth will be printed onto the ticket. To gain entry to SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS, you will have to provide valid photo ID showing the very same name and date of birth as printed on your ticket, so it’s crucial that these details are correct at time of purchase. In the event that you are unable to attend the festival after purchasing a ticket, you are not able to reassign it to a friend. This is exactly where the new ticketing system will fail, i.e. the ticket finds itself on eBay and surfaces with a new “friend’s†name on it. However we will be offering refunds up until June 30th - just contact our ticketing folks via orders@oztix.com.au or phone 07-3367 1126.
I have seen Pearl Jam 3 times (once in 1998 and twice in 2003) and they put on an amazing show. The last show I saw of them they played all of the big songs (Alive, Daughter and Betterman) and the highlight was definately the solo during evenflow.....
