gotta love paypal's transaction process commitment. I made a transfer of funds from my bank account to my paypal last wednesday, July 11 and was told it will by processed July 13. Now July 16 and guess what? "Transaction pending". It's this kind of BS that had me reluctant to go paypal in the first place. f'n wankers paypal are.
I just use my visa card to add funds to paypal as i buy stuff, so dont have that issue.
Maybe if you dont already get a visa debit card, then when you buy it takes it direct from the card instantly. the person youare buying from gets there money right away!
when i am transferring from Paypal TO my bank i dont have an issue either, normally if they tell me it will be done by the 15th as example I will see it in my bank by the 13th or 14th LATEST.
Well, I sent them a polite - but firm - e-mail last night (well, very early this morning lol) telling them I wasn't happy with the situation. Check my e-mail this morning proper - the transfer is complete. amazing what a polite, but firm, e-mail can do, isn't it? Woobie, I transfer from my bank to paypal to make sure i don't spend that money.
Mind you, considering it was nearly 1 this morning when I sent that e-mail and that my back has been giving me hell the last few days, a polite e-mail was an effort.
I have found if i have exatly $0.00 balance in paypal and fund entirely from my bank i get NO fee. I only seem to get it if i partly fund from my bank. For that reason I try to keep nothing in my paypal at all
I barely have pp funds, and majority of my purchases are funded from my bank account. Note this is different than using a debit/credit card, it's like a bank transfer, but using paypal.
Even when I have partial funds and I have to top it up with money from my bank, I'm not charged a fee.
I believe the fees are related to;
- Normal PayPal receiving funds' fee - standard, unless you use Gift Payments*
- Send via Gift* where payment is funded via a Credit/Debit card
- Send funds internationally

I have a question. If I buy something on ebay but don't have enough in my paypal and go through checkout process like normal. Doe's paypal just pay the seller the total and then takes that amount from my linked bank account?
I've never paid from bank account before. There's a couple of things on ebay I want but waiting for incoming paypal might not happen quickly enough.

Just an aside guys. I would recommend that if you are going to link a bank account do it via a Visa or Mastercard debit card. That way if you get screwed by Paypal or a ebay buyer you can claim via Visa or Mastercard. Its just some extra protection you can get that you wont have with a bank account directly linked.
