Paypal Question?? - HELP!!

i'm looking to a deal for a card and this guy is saying that he can only accept $500 payment in his paypal account.

the card is going to cost $1500, and he is suggesting setting up 3 new paypal accounts for me to deposit $500 into each.

is this true that some paypal accounts can only accept so much?? and am i covered for the whole $1500 if he happens to burn me?? or not because i've paid like 3 seperate paypal accounts??

any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if they have limits on paypal accounts but I would think that if it goes wrong you wouldn't be able to claim the full $1500 because you can only make 1 dispute against that item (ie- you wouldn't be able to make 3 claims against the 1 item). Do I make sense?

Send email to paypal with what the guy is telling you, they will be able to tell you if that is the case that some account are limited, but i have never heard that before!

If you're unsure about it I'd suggest you don't go through with it, and then send the money to me. I'll send you a picture of Carmelo Anthony in a santa suit in return.

Tell him to upgrade his account, or whatever he needs to do (if in fact he's telling the truth).

If not, tell him to pull his finger out his arse, and accept your payment, and stop trying to rip you. As I believe what the Big Sarg is saying, and that you won't be able to claim all 3 payments back.

$1500 sounds like a big card? I reckon I'd get strung up if I even SUGGESTED spending that much on one.... lol.

i have never heard of that before, sounds very dodgy. Personally i would steer clear of that deal.

i have sent an message back to him outlining the conditions that i will complete the deal with??

here's another question......

if i pay the money into his 'friends' account which is a verified account and can accept that sort of dollars, i am still covered yeah??
it doesn't matter what paypal account you put the money in, you should still be covered right??

Sounds as though he needs to upgrade his account or the other problem could be the monthly limit certain accounts have. We had a problem when trying to make a large payment due to our monthly limit.

I'd say its the upgrade, cos the problem is with them receiving Ev's money, not him making the payment.

I'd say you're right Ev, if he's asking you to pay money to his mates account, then THEY become liable so if the card goes missing, it's their balls not his that are on the chopping block.

Ask around for a reference on this guy, see if he's had similar deals.
