I received the e-mail below from Paypal in regards to a dispute I am currently involved in with a seller from Canada. It was addressed to me personally and the Paypal website tells me thay have sent an e-mail to me requesting further info...so I am not worried about it being a spo.of. But it is still a very strange request, has anyone else had anything like this??
The dispute is for US$39.14 (Seller is bausergolfcollectibles....he will be listed in the Ozcards Ebay Blacklist!!)

In order to continue this investigation, a police report must be filed with
your local law enforcement agency and a copy of the report must be faxed to
PayPal.

The documents should be faxed to PayPal at (402) 537-5760 (please note this
is a United States phone number, if you are faxing from outside the United
States, you will generally need to dial 00 1 before the number). Please
include a cover sheet with your fax that includes the email address
registered on your PayPal account and the ID number of your claim
(PP-197-690-924), so we may attach the documents to your claim as quickly
as possible.

We must receive your fax within 10 days from the date of this message in
order to proceed with the investigation of your claim. If we do not receive
your fax within 10 days, your claim will be cancelled. We are unable to
grant extensions to this time period. PayPal is unable to reimburse you for
any costs or fees that may be incurred in obtaining the requested
documents. Any documents you provide may also be supplied to the seller in
your dispute if necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience. We regret any inconvenience
this request may cause.

Sincerely,
Aaron

What went wrong with the transaction? Must be serious for a Police report to be involved. But if they ask to fax it in, just check the number with their fax number on the website.

I won about 8 of the guys auctions in early August (mainly 8x10 Golf autos)....he sent 2 cards (very badly packed) on their own...I never received anymore. I initiated a Paypal claim and this is where it has ended up.

Just got this from Paypal....lucky I didn't go to the cops to file a report!!

Please disregard the previous email asking you to provide police
documentation to support your claim. This email has been sent out in error.
We have determined that you are due a refund for your missing items. We
have completed the investigating of your complaint:

ahh you got the email meant for Lakers fans ;-)

good work and glad to see it all sorted out

Just off topic slightly....it would be an interesting excercise to compare both the Lakers and Celtics criminal records....I reckon the Celtics would be worse!!! (Although Kobe boosts the Lakers stocks!!)

i dont think anyone would beat the JailBlazers tho ;) too bad Ruben Patterson is gone, coz with him Randolph and Darius Miles, wow,
