Paypal/Beckett Forum sales question

Hi guys....

On Mavs suggestion I have joined the Beckett Forum to see if I cannot find myself some more Riders (I've found 16 of them from one seller including a nice 97-98 Metal Universe Red Gem card).

Anyway given the misfortune I appear to be having lately with the post and one possibly unscrupulous seller and through being generally cautious I was wondering....

what options I have with regards to having paid for things through paypal... is their only buyer protection for deals done within ebay? Or is any purchase made using paypal protected from unscrupulous dealers?

Just something I would like to know before I start entering into deals with yankees. Because if there's no real cover I'd definitely have to change my tactics, who I trust etcetera.

So any information would be helpful. Thanks guys.

Straight up Ebay doesn't care at all(this is from my dealings in the last week) They will just send you automated replies that basicly say who cares.

Paypal is the way to go, If an item doesn't arrive you can put through a claim before the 35th day from payment. Most times you'll be refunded but I think you can only do it twice a year

okay thanks for that, the guy I am looking to deal with has been a beckett member for quite a while (5000+ posts) and has perfect ebay feedback.... so I don't seem to have a reason to worry... just wanted to see what options I do have. Thanks for the reply cobber.

Osh is a bit of a dickhead but the skinny runner is trustworthy enough to deal with. Like G said post it here and me, Hill and Gemz in particular can usually help.

LOL Chad thanks.... he's appeared quite reasonable with me thus far, happy to wait a bit for me to have the funds. I actually didn't expect a response first time round... as I have no intention of posting rgeularly on Beckett... and I know how people can be with newbies....

Only the one response. I think I might have to be persistant to get those collectors with Riders to come outta the woodwork.

But thanks again Mavs... really glad my only hit thus far will eventually procure me a #/100 Rider card. only my fourth numbered card from JR. Only my second LOW numbered card once I have it in my PC.


I'll be sure to come here before I do any deals so I don't end up getting a dickhead who isn't trustworthy... as long as I find the trustworthy ones. LOL
