Paypal - Another complaint post.

Time to take my frustration out, goddamn hate paypal & thier illogical thinking.

Anyways on the 20/12/11 I sold the following card to an ebay user - eBay My World - tazinrich

here's the card eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

Buyer wanted it shipped out express, which I did the next day.
Now I get an email from paypal saying that it was an unauthorised transaction.
Not an item not received, but unauthorised.
Now it is up to me to prove I shipped it, which because it was nearly 2 weeks ago, receipt from PO has long been lost, my bad I know.
They won't accpect ebay messages as proof of buyer wanting & paying for it.
They won't accept that they actually entered thier own username & password to pay for it.

God damn some people make me so angry, time for a beer.

Thats cr*p!!!! How is a seller supposed to know its unauthorised. In my opinion Paypal authorised the person to use the account by allowing them access. They should know its unauthorised before a seller does.

Nah, customer paid with paypal through ebay.com.au. Apparently they've made a complaint with thier c/card company.

Potentially just another type of scam...
I thought you couldn't do anything on your credit card unless like 40+ days had passed, or maybe that's just my one...
You can't really prove that you sent exactly what was sold, but you should have the tracking #. That's why you should add it to the 'items sold' list when you mark it as shipped, so that you will still know what the number was even if you can't find the receipt.

An unauthorised transaction to me sounds like the "buyer" is claiming that it wasn't them that purchased the card using their paypal , ie their account has been hacked, yet you have to prove you have sent which is rather strange

If they did not authorise then they should have to return the card and they get their money back

Sounds like if you can not prove that you have sent then they get to keep a card they are claiming they did not authorise the payment of

Sounds fair...NOT

Just sent this through to there complaints dept, lets see how they react to this?

"How the hell can paypal claim it was an unauthorised charge when the customer paid with paypal through ebay? I have messages in Ebay, which owns paypal, stating that they wanted to buy it & after winning the auction asking how much express shipping was. This wasn't an item not received case. Does anyone think logically there, is paypal going to accept blame on behalf of this? Or is paypal once again going to automatically side with the buyer, and have no respect for the seller, with whom paypal earns its revenue?"

Yeah I know I should have, I would've accpeted that if it was an item not received, but it's an unauthorised transaction, surely common sense would have paypal accepting the blame here.

I linked paypal to the email ref ID in the emails I got on ebay from the buyer who scammed me SAYING they were going to screw me over and apparently paypal don't read these. Or watch video proof as it can be faked. L. O. L.

Yeah, I remember reading about that one a while back, it's like they have a workforce of mindless monkeys with no morals or commonsense working there.

I know people will probably say I am stupid but I think paypal are trying to be on your side with this one if you look at it logically

The buyer would be saying it was an unauthorsied transaction not paypal

paypal would tell from their records that the card was purchased and paid for through ebay. They just need you to prove it has been posted.

they then go back to the credit card company and say here is the purchase and we can prove it was sent.

Had a similar situation in my new job where a person said they had not purchased a particular item from tv shopping using a credit card and when it was proved they had and that it had been sent then the transaction stood

If I sell something on ebay, and the customer pays via bank deposit, is there anyway they can do a reverse & get thier money back? Really over paypal as a seller on ebay.

so not sell international? just in AUS?

Moral of the story - always keep your receipts!!

Started selling recently with ebay and didn't realise how much paypal were ripping me off eg. sold a $2 card and they think its ok to take 37cents plus ebay fees and I made about 70 cents. What a joke
