Paypal...................again

more and more of these stories
. i cant wait for the day when the appropiate authorities step in and say enough is enough or ebay/paypal lose a huge class action by sellers!!!

Seriously though it did make sense why they wanted it destroyed (even if it is extremely harsh on the seller).

They also said they would have requested an evaluation from a knowledgeable third party that the goods were indeed counterfeit before going that far.

After reading the article my first thought was surely if it was such a genuine article then a auction house would be better suited for such a sale (Rather than selling it online)......the trouble with that is that all auction houses evaluate such items an give an opinion of their authenticity. Maybe the seller was genuinely concerned about it's authenticity and like many tried to use the online sale as a way of passing it off.

Still to be out a violin that made it through WWII as well as $US2500 is pretty harsh :(
