As you can see there are no other cards in this set I have seen numbered /25 with such a sick patch.
The price I won the card for is minimal. I just want to ensure I have legitimate patches in my set.
What set me off is receiving the card today, the left corner of the patch window that runs up to the yellow is slightly dented. None of the other cards I have in this set have this dent. The price of the auction ended very low as well for such a "sick patch".
I have contacted Tracy H of Panini with this concern.
I am probably just being dramatic, who would hack up a /25 patch card for an extra $5?
As to the patch, it all depend on where they get the patch from. I have a kenyon martin patch from 2010-11 Donruss (production line stat die cut) that is nothing but stitching (looks to me like it's from the waist band of the shorts) - it's still a patch though. Plus you have to factor in how many jerseys panini has of a player and how many other material inserts that player is in.
As to the denting, i personally can only put it down to factory damage.

For a non auto card, Byron Scott, /25 - I seriously question why they would even bother, I won the card for less than $2 too - true story! So even if they did replace the patch, it's not like it went for anything extra!
