NEWARK, N.J. — There were stars at every turn during Tuesday’s Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day inside the Prudential Center. Football stars. Media stars. UFC stars. Modeling stars. And yet, perhaps none shined brighter than 12-year-old Curtis Case, the sixth-grader from Wytheville, Va., who won a dream week in New York as part of the Panini Super Bowl Kid Reporter contest.
With Panini America Vice President of Marketing Jason Howarth serving as Case’s lead blocker to get him to the front of seemingly every podium, Case asked the “tough questions” with Panini America Super Bowl XLVIII trading cards in tow. When it was all said and done, it’s likely that no reporter on the floor landed more interviews than Case.
In less than two hours, the dynamic duo of Case and Howarth managed to get quality camera time with 14 different players Tuesday, including Russell Wilson, Golden Tate, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Max Unger, Wes Welker, Julius Thomas, Eric Decker, Shaun Phillips, Demaryius Thomas and even former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson.
And Case did more than just ask questions Tuesday. He also got to share some of the newest Panini America cards of those players directly with them. The results, as you’ll see in full video recaps coming to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days, are priceless.
