Hi all!

Ive noticed that there seems to be very few mentions of Panini Signatures on here.

My brother and I have gone through about 4 boxes of the stuff, and while the 2012/13 seemed pretty bust, the 13/14 boxes have given really nice returns.

Ive also watched a ton of busts on youtube and found that about 7/10 box breaks seem to be pretty nice.

Just wondering why there isnt more interest in this product? Have others not had much success, are there not enough big dollar hits, or do people just not like the design/configuration?

Now that these are around the $69 mark on D&A I've found i've always made my money back on the 13/14 stuff, or at the very least about 80% of it, so just surprised it doesn't get more mention!

Not many low numbered cards that look high end. Product was made to palm off a bunch of stickers they couldn't put on other products.
Lack of patch cards, lack of quality high end RCs.
Stickers everywhere, nothing on card (I could be corrected)?

Nothing against people who want to collect them, but not for me.

There definately are on-card autos, though I think the base autos (I.e. Rookie autos) are all stickers. IIRC the film card autos are all on card - I know my Jordan Crawford 1/1 def is.

I do get your point about the lack of good rookies and total lack of patches though.

I guess the pro with the Signatures is you know what youre going to get - you almost always get a low numbered card of a good player (Hakeem, Robinson, Drexler, Wall, etc) along with a rookie auto, a Draft X-Change, and probably a film card of some type. It's rare to get a box that is a complete bust and almost impossible to not get back at least 50% of the box cost.

The con is also the fact that you know what youre going to get. You pretty much know what your going to get from every box (its just a question of which plauer) so there's very little suspense involved. About the most exciting surprise you'll get is either a redemption auto or a 1/1. I guess others probably feel this way as well...good value, but a little boring.

The only saving grace for signatures is the film card IMO. Have 10 different cards of each player, plus parallels on top of that is definitely a big problem along with the stickers like banzini mentioned.

Yes, i pulled /25 which is one of 50 parallels of the same card. Basically makes them worthless in my eyes. And sticker auto's.... urgh....

Each to is own though so if you love them, go for it! You won't have much competition for them.

Parallels with no real difference in them. Horrible Sticker autos:

Don't like your card diecut? No problem. I have the exact same card for you like that too, with no other changes...

However, you are right - the film cards are nice. But again, whats the difference!?

I have also bought some low end stuff like /25 common cards and /5 and they go for dirt prices.
After all, if there is 20 sets x 10 years players career approx x multiple parallels in each set = thousands of parallels all under /50 = not really rare at all.
I know you can say this about other sets but it seems signatures has a lot of them thus reducing the appeal.

In saying all of this, it's still not bad for entry level wax busting and getting some good name players and a decent little collection with some fun! it's what it is all about :D :D

I'm a fan of the first year base and platinum base. Not much else from the product does much for me.
The film cards are nice too.

*Edit*
If you bust any 12/13 and come across the remaining 4 GP base 1/1's I need hit me up :D

@nichj99 They are nice cards but would be nicer if each were different foil / colour as you get lower into the serial numbers.

I reckon this is what happens when one company has so many card sets to pump out in a 9 month window! Attention to detail like the above doesn't even get factored in.

Agreed, to all of the above.

Fair points, all makes sense when you look at it that way. Can definitely see where you guys are coming from!!

I must admit when you strike a /10 card in Signatures (which has happened fairly frequently for me) it only feels special because it has an /10 number on it - no other reason. Otherwise sadly, they really do feel like a base card with different coloured writing.
