I KNOW THERE'S A MILLION OF THESE THREADS BUT I HAVENT SEEN ONE ABOUT THIS.
CHANCES ARE PANINI HAVE MOST PEOPLES CARDS BACK FROM THE PLAYERS. HOWEVER IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY STAMP THEM AFTER THEY GET THE CARDS BACK.
AND WHAT I MEAN BY STAMPING IS THE SERIAL NUMBERING OF THE CARDS...CARDS GET MADE...CARDS GO OUT...CARDS GET SIGNED...CARDS COME BACK...CARDS GET STAMPED
Not sure why that is a big deal? I would imagine like other sports players get personal cards that would go out pre stamped so as not to add confusion.
Probably so they can check how many survived the trip! Like in some releases where they have all cards /99 but a couple that are /97 or something weird!
Possibly a great thing for the hobby, so long as the un-stamped ones (or extras) don't end up on the open market like all the stuff from the Fleer Auctions did a few years back.

No, my understanding is that they send only the number required, but if any return with visible damage, they will trash it and only stamp the remainder. i have seen a couple of cards that were /23 instead of /25 like the others in the set.
Also, I believe they used the 'unredeemed' redemption cards as replacements in most cases!
