Can someone explain to me how exactly the 11/12 NBA draft class Auto redemptions work? Are they usually worth redeeming?

There are different sets being released for each of Past & Present, Limited and Gold Standard, but the basic rules fit for all 3 releases, with 2011 & 2012 working differently.
So for 2011 Draft Class, these cards will be auto'd, but at this stage coded by lettering, with a random "lottery" (conspiracy theorists, are you ready?) to take place by Panini in October to ascertain what code then relates to which draft pick selection, so to state the obvious, if you have XRCA redemption, this does NOT guarantee a Kyrie Irving auto, but it does give you a 1 in 35 chance (possibly 39, still trying to find this figure out).
Now for the 2012 Draft Class. Their cards will NOT be auto'd. They are alot easier to work out as they clearly state which Draft Pick selection they relate to, so now that the 2012 Draft has occured, you can now work out who you have as your redemption.
