If I remember correctly, Panini claimed these Diamonds to be genuine.

tbh they'll either

a) say this is just a one off, one card, one jeweller, nothing to see here folks

or

b) blame their supplier

or

c) ignore it altogether. why give traction to more problems.

to be fair, did anyone even care about having 'real' diamonds in cards? It's such a lame gimmick.

I kind of did, but not enough to buy one obviously. Point is - it's advertised as a ruby or diamond, it should be one. People like shiny stuff. Kind of like solid gold cards and the like though too with the gimmicky idea
