Leave it to iconic New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter to make history — again. For the first time ever, one of the most beloved players in the storied history of pinstripes will have autographs in Panini America products beginning with the release of 2014 Classics Baseball on November 19. The autographs, buy-backs of original Donruss-branded cards dating back to 1999, were completed in a signing conducted with and authenticated by Steiner Sports.
The first cards — an extremely limited number of hard-signed original buy-backs from 2001 Classics Baseball and 2002 Classics Baseball — will be randomly inserted into 2014 Classics Baseball. Other buy-backs — including original cards from Studio, Certified, Diamond Kings, Limited, Absolute and more — will follow in 2015.
Jeter’s inclusion in upcoming Panini America products promises to deliver added levels of excitement and value while honoring one of the greatest players in Yankees history. Just something to think about as you prepare to settle in for tonight’s deciding Game 7 of the World Series. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional details on Panini America’s plans for Jeter’s autographed buy-backs. Until then, though, feast your eyes on this jaw-dropping ensemble of the early returns.
