It’s the fusion that keeps on delivering: Panini America’s venerable Donruss Football brand and the still-stunning special effects provided by Optichrome technology. Put them together and you get Donruss Optic Football, a relatively new addition to the Panini America brand family that has wasted no time in becoming one of the company’s most popular products. And in mid-December, the stacked and colorful 2018 edition will arrive.
On average, each hobby box of 2018 Donruss Optic Football (four cards per pack, 20 packs per box, 12 boxes per case) will deliver one autograph, 10 Rookie Cards, 10 Rated Rookies, 10 parallels and four inserts. The 150-card base set (100 veterans, 50 Rated Rookies) features a rainbow array of parallels including Holo (one in 10 packs, on average), Aqua (numbered to 299), Orange (numbered to 199), Blue (numbered to 149), Red (numbered to 99), Purple (numbered to 50), Black Velocity (numbered to 25), Gold (numbered to 10), Green (numbered to five) and Gold Vinyl 1/1s.
Additional highlights of 2018 Donruss Optic Football include . . .
- The return of Fans of the Game Autographs featuring the likes of Chris Evans and Chloe Kim.
- Rare Rated Rookies Autographs, Rookie Patch Autographs, Rookie Dual Autographs and Rookie Triple Autographs that include Gold Vinyl 1/1 versions.
- A bevy of ink-graced inserts including 1988 Tribute Autographs, 1998 Tribute Autographs and Legends Series Autographs.
- New 1988 Tribute and 1998 Tribute insert sets that include autograph versions. These particular sets will highlight the design used for those specific years enhanced with Optic technology.
- Rookie Triple Autographs features three promising rookie autographs on one card with base versions numbered to 35 or less.
- The chase-worthy and spectacular Downtown insert makes its Donruss Optic debut featuring original artwork on each card. Base versions will fall roughly one every 240 packs.
