The debut edition of Panini America’s Origins Football franchise last season was met with rave reviews from collectors who were blown away as much by the product’s colorful aesthetics as they were by its rich roster of rookie autographs and memorabilia. That compelling combination conspired to make 2016 Origins Football one of the best debut releases of last season. It also set the stage for the highly anticipated encore edition.

Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America in late August, 2017 Origins Football picks up right where the 2016 edition left off, but with a few subtle twists and an exciting new class of NFL rookies. On average, each hobby box (seven cards per box, 16 boxes per case) will deliver one hard-signed Rookie Autograph, one Jumbo Rookie Patch Autograph and one Jumbo or Patch Memorabilia card.

The highlights of the product are many and include . . .

  • Multi-signed cards in the Quad Rookie Autographs, Six Star Signatures Booklet and Rookie Stars Dual Signatures Booklet sets, all numbered to 10 or less.
  • On-card rookie autographs from the 2017 NFL Draft Class with silver and gold ink versions in Origins Autographs (numbered to 99 or less).
  • Rare, hard-signed Rookie Booklet Patch autographs with NFL Shield, Laundry Tag and Glove parallels all numbered to 25 or less.

We’ll have much more to preview on 2017 Origins Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. Until then, however, here’s an extended sneak peek, including several images from the 2017 NFLPA Rookie Premiere Presented By Panini America:
