With each new soccer release, Panini America continues to evolve, engage and enrich the collecting environment surrounding one of the world’s most popular sports. A traditional trading-card existence that began torridly with the company’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Prizm release continues to thrive all these years later. In the months since, Panini America has introduced soccer fans and collectors to fabled brands such as Donruss, Select and Flawless.
In late October, the company is giving soccer’s biggest stars the Noir treatment with 2016-17 Noir Soccer, a higher-end offering that will feature a captivating array of autograph and memorabilia content and a clean design befitting “the beautiful game.”
On average, each 10-card box of 2016-17 Noir Soccer will deliver at least three autographs and two memorabilia cards. Among the product’s myriad highlights . . .
The biggest names on the pitch featured with both club and country in this high-end collection.
In all, eight autographed inserts and two memorabilia inserts. Look for Color and Black & White versions of multiple inserts throughout the collection, such as Auto Noir and Autographed Memorabilia.
Just like a mysterious film noir, Noir Soccer has two stories to tell. The base set has a roster of 100 players with two versions: one with a black-and-white photo and one with a color photo.
More than 15 clubs are represented in the Club Signatures insert. Look for stars from football juggernauts Real Madrid, Galatasaray, FC Bayern München and more.
Country Signatures features players in the colors of their home country. This insert set features the first on-card autographs of many players, including: Jamie Vardy (England), Thomas Müller (Germany), Patrice Evra (France), Carlos Bacca (Colombia), Arda Turan (Turkey), Cesc Fabregas (Spain), Ivan Perisic (Croatia) and David Alaba (Austria).
Find stunning on-card autograph content from the top players in the world. Noir boasts eight sequentially numbered autograph sets with print runs as low as 1/1. Look for signatures from players such as Bastian Schweinsteiger, Gianluigi Buffon, Luis Suárez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and more.
We’ll have plenty more on 2016-17 Noir Soccer in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But until then, enjoy this extended sneak peek that features some early card mockups as well as some of the first on-card-autograph returns.
