It’s been a banner year for the trading cards of former college football stars turned breakout NFL performers. One look at eBay completed sale prices of key cards featuring Carson Wentz, Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott from Panini America college releases 2016 Immaculate Collegiate Football and 2016 Black Gold Collegiate Football will confirm as much. Obviously, that’s good news for Panini America’s upcoming 2016 National Treasures Collegiate Football.
Set to hit hobby shops across North America in late November, each eight-card box of 2016 National Treasures Collegiate Football will deliver six autograph or memorabilia cards and two base or parallel cards. As is the case with any product graced with the “National Treasures” name, the highlights are many.
Among some of the niceties . . .
- Short-printed, serial-numbered cards of rookies, superstars and legends from their college days with a vast array of premium memorabilia.
- Combo Player Materials Booklets feature the top rookies from the 2016 NFL Draft including 1/1 Laundry Tag, Brand Logo, Team Logo and Team Slogan versions.
- Look for on-card rookie autographs in the Material Signatures, Colossal Signatures and Signature Die-Cuts sets.
- Notable Nicknames goes deep with inscriptions from college football icons numbered to 25 or less.
- New this year are Team Logo Shield Signatures, Brand Logo Signatures and Combo Team Logo and Team Slogan booklets.
- The fabled Rookie Silhouettes insert features jumbo swatches from this year’s draft picks, including Prime versions numbered to 25 or less.
- Material Signatures features an on-card autograph coupled with a prime swatch from this year’s top rookies; look for Brand Logo version numbered to only two.
- The Materials insert features game-worn college uniforms from Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Amari Cooper, Andrew Luck, Andy Dalton, Bobby Layne, Carson Palmer, Champ Bailey, Dan Marino, Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch, Eric Dickerson, John Elway, Jim Thorpe, Le’Veon Bell, Marcus Allen, Marcus Mariota, Rob Gronkowski, Troy Aikman and more.
- The Team Quads insert includes player-worn college uniform cards of four college stars from the same university; Prime versions are numbered to 10.
