It’s fitting, really, that we get our first official look at Panini America’s upcoming 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball on the same day that NBA All-Star 2016 festivities tip off in Toronto. After all, National Treasures Basketball is an every-year All-Star; a no-doubt-about-it candidate for MVP (Most Valuable Product) honors every time it comes out.

But when 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball arrives in hobby shops in early May, it will do so packing a few all-new twists to accompany the bevy of brand tenets that have made National Treasures something of a national collecting icon. Keep reading to find out more.

On average, each 10-card box of 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball will deliver eight autograph or memorabilia cards, one Printing Plate 1/1 and one base or parallel card. The product also will introduce a few wrinkles to the NT legacy, including, for the first time ever, cards featuring full letters from nameplates worn during the 2015 NBA Finals. Other highlights of the product include . . .

  • USA Basketball memorabilia cards featuring jersey swatches worn during USA Basketball competition.
  • The industry’s leading Rookie Patch Autographs return with base versions numbered to 99 or 49 and four chase versions: Silver numbered to 25, Gold numbered to 10, Emerald numbered to five and Logoman 1/1s.
  • The return of the fabled Logoman. National Treasures showcases veterans, legends and rookies with the most sought-after patch on every NBA jersey.
  • International Treasures celebrates the international diversity of the NBA on autographed, country-themed cards.
  • Each case of 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball will now contain four boxes.

We’ll have plenty more on 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But today, tip-off your NBA All-Star Weekend with this extended sneak peek:
