To say that Panini America is ramping up its vaunted Box Wars schedule for next week’s 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention is akin to suggesting that the Denver Broncos Super Bowl 50 championship rings had just a little bling on them. In both cases, such characterizations would be massive understatements. In reality, Panini America will increase the Box Wars frequency at its booth next week by almost 8o percent over last year’s show.

Company officials also are adding to the prize pool for Box Wars winners. Winning collectors once again will have the chance to win a coveted Panini Black Box as in years past. New to the prize list this year? High-end box prizes such as 2015 National Treasures Football, 2015-16 National Treasures Basketball, 2014-15 Noir Basketball, 2015 Immaculate Football and other boxes carrying a $200 or higher SRP.

Of course, the grandest prize will no doubt come Saturday afternoon, when the winner of the 1:15 p.m. 2015-16 Noir Basketball Box War will receive a ticket to Panini America’s exclusive National VIP Party on Saturday night (stay tuned for much more information on that).

Unlike product required to participate in the Panini America wrapper-redemption program and VIP Party qualification (which must be purchased at the show from Authorized Show Dealers Atlanta Sports Cards, Blowout Cards, Dave & Adam’s Card World and Steel City Collectibles), collectors can purchase Box War-eligible product from any vendor at the show.

In the gallery below, we provide a daily Box Wars schedule. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of our 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention plans.
