Later today in stadiums across the country, the NFL’s biggest on-field heroes will honor the real-life heroes of our nation’s military as the league continues November’s Salute to Service tribute to veteran and active-duty members of the United States armed forces. For every point scored during each of the NFL’s 32 designated Salute to Service games, the league will donate $100 to its three core military partners: The Pat Tillman Foundation, USO and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Across the league during Salute to Service month, NFL players will wear newly designed on-field apparel including hats, sweatshirts, gloves and captains patches, and will use camouflage Gatorade towels on the sidelines. And in the trading card arena, Panini America is doing its part to bring attention to the Salute to Service campaign like only it can.
During tonight’s huge showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, fans entering Sports Authority Field at Mile High will receive a special six-card pack of camouflage 2013 Score Football cards featuring members of the Broncos and card backs honoring a different branch of the U.S. military. In addition, the company produced a spectacular Camouflage Prizm parallel insert in 2013 Prizm Football that is exclusive to Target stores.
The Camouflage Prizms are easily among the coolest of all Prizm parallels (check out the gallery below) and are holding their own on the secondary market as far as base parallel cards go. Also, once again this season, Panini America officials are securing game-used football’s from select Salute to Service games for us in future promotional sets.
Game-worn merchandise and footballs used in Salute to Service games is being auctioned at www.nfl.com/auction and special camouflage merchandise is available for purchase at www.NFLShop.com. All of the net proceeds will be donated to the league’s three core military nonprofit partners. For more information check out www.nfl.com/salute.
