Is anyone on these boards going to use this site when ebay put all there fees up in a couple of weeks?
http://www.oztion.com.au/default.aspx
I have had emails from a few sellers that have stores on Ebay that are now moving away to this site and no longer listing on Ebay.
I was just wondering if the people on here who have ebay stores are going the same way as these sellers?

the site is good but not enough visit to warrant a decent bids. i been checking it out for the last 6 months and hardly any decent sales or decent cards are being listed. it will get better but this new fees from ebay may help grow that site.

Unfortunately eBay is the king of kings.

There's been about 5 attempts in Australia to compete, but like gemz said there is nothing decent on these other sites.

Latest casualty is Charter House Auctions which was very simiar to Oztion.

Until eBay goes broke it's the only option for a wide selection of goods.

Arent ebay askin for 10 per cent now of final auction prices?

Heres the email i got.

To all my valued customers,

As you might or might not be aware, Ebay are drastically changing their core features and pricing structure from 22nd August. This includes the severe restricting of the Ebay Shops facility, restricting searches for items to 10 results, and basically doubling the selling and listing fees for sellers and raising the monthly store subscriptions by 50%. Currently, approximately 1,000 Ebay sellers have or are transferring their businesses to a new Australian auction site, Oztion. This auction site is completely Australian owned and is growing rapidly and I feel that it will more than rival Ebay in prices and variety as time goes by.

As a result of these changes, I am also currently in the process of moving my Ebay shop across to Oztion. Currently, I have approximately 400 auctions running on Oztion, however, this number will grow significantly during the next few weeks. Oztion will also have their Oztion Shops facility starting on 21st August and on that date, and I am expecting to open up my store on a larger scale from that date. I run my business on principles, one of these being that I oppose large corporate greed, something that Ebay is showing with these changes.

Therefore, I urge you to register with Oztion as soon as possible and support not only my new store, but also support all the other sellers that now exist on Oztion. You can register as a buyer or seller on Oztion by clicking on the link below. You will be directed to the Oztion website and the registration process.

As most of my items on Ebay sell for less than $75.00, the final value selling fees are being increased from the current 5.25% to 10%, which basically converts to Ebay taking about 50% of my margin in all sales which is totally unacceptable. These fees will raise the costs of running my Ebay store by approximately $20,000 per year and these costs will be passed onto the consumer. I will still run my Ebay shop, however, while the starting prices of my Ebay auctions will remain competitive, the postage and handling charges will reflect these extra costs - this will only apply to items being sold through Ebay.

Fair enough

I know they had some fee changes in Feb, but they must be going for the sellers' jugulars now.

Yea I searched for Iverson and Mourning and got zero results.
Are they allowed to copy Ebay so specifically like that?
