OT - Krispy Kreme finally opens in Melbourne!

Used to have it for breakfast everyday mmmm double choc *drools* I'll have to check out a Krispy Kreme as ive herd lots of ppl say how good they are
Good Old Krispy Kreme! They opened one of their first stores in Penrith NSW right next door to Panthers (The Leagues Club for the NRL club Penrith Panthers) and the response to them was so huge, there was often queue's of 20 -30 cards waiting in the drive through, as well as 25 - 50 people queing up to purchase donuts outside the store.
One night out on the drink we counted 67 people in the line at 3:30am on Sunday morning queing for a post alcoholic donut. Crazy!
That was a few years ago and now the store is pretty much deserted, Ive hardly seen more than a handful of people buying donuts and the drive through line is usually 1 or 2 cars at best.
They are nice dounuts, however after the first few, they tend to leave a sickly taste in your mouth.
These days I tend to steer clear of them!

Krispy Kreme is awesome!
I reckon the assorted flavours box is as good as! the cream filled and jam filled are unreal! I've been to the Penrith store twice now, there's supposed to be one going in just down the road from where I live, but it's been in the works for a long time now.
Yep the store in Penrith was 24 hours on weekends I think! It did a roaring trade when the Nightclub in Panthers shut down.....nothing like going and grabbing McDonalds after a big night out topped off by a few KK's.
I went the night the store opened and they were giving away plenty of free boxes, the 2 boxes I picked up didnt last long......

We went the weekend it opened and were sitting in drive through for ages and I remember waitresses coming out on roller blades giving away donuts to everyone waiting. It was sweet.
I have a KK roughly a 5 minute walk away in the Westfield although it's more of an express one. It's funny how we always get cravings at weird hours..
