after todays game against the Blazers and the Jazz today in which the Blazers just beat the Jazz by 2 i think, Portland have now won 6 in a row and Utah have lost 6 in a row
a bit of a turnaround from the start of the season!!
does everyone just think that both teams are going through a little bit of a 'patch' and that things will go back to a bit of normality soon?? or do you think that the trend will continue!!!
i mean the Jazz have Boozer, D-Will and even AK47 has been playing alright again lately and they can't buy a win in the last two weeks, whereas on the other hand the Blazers, with the exception of Roy i suppose, don't really have any 'all star' worthy players like the jazz's few and they have been going really well!!
Didn't watch the game.. but i think Utah are not in great shape ATM LOL...
Credits to Blazers, they are now currently winning 6 in a row....
Recently, Utah met Kings, Spurs, Dallas, Suns and Blazers.. in those 6 games.. all teams are pretty hard to beat.. minus outside/inside threat okur has been out for a while.. plus, those 5 of 6 games are road ones... Utah is pretty poor in road games usually.
So, my guess is, for Utah's next 5.. they may win a few games on the road.. when they visit Sonics, Bobcats, Hawks, Magic and Heat.... after those 5 games, they will have home games... only 4 more road games until end of January.. so, Utah will get back to normal i think..
Besides, Ronnie Brewer's production is in massive decline... in Nov, 17 games he averaged 2.6 stl per game... whereas.. in Dec, 6 games 0.66 steal per game..
Saw a few games of Utah this season, they are pretty sharp... generally..hope they will bounce back.. but Northwest division, AI-Melo combo is leading.. so you will be happy when Utah and Blazers are having roller-coaster situations.. giving Denver more chances to win its division LOL
I know if Bargey was here he would've brought it up but how cool has Travis Outlaw been going? I think the way he's been playing has had a big impact on the Blazers, the last 6 games he's had lots of points and rebounds..
it's funny you mentiond that Trav cos when i was writing the thread i was actually thinking the same thing!!
Outlaw has definitely picked up his game lately and behind Roy has been a huge factor in their recent success!!

yep, Outlaw from what I can see would be a big difference maker...so I picked him up in a fantasy league!
The big thing with outlaw, is his consistency...if he can maintain these numbers until February, the Blazers will do a lot better then they did last year
Basketball is a team game, not a Stars game. The Blazers are doing well as a team, the Jazz a doing poorly as a couple of Stars...at this point in time.
Brandon Roy's production has increased immensely the last 6 games. IMO this is a large contributing factor. He has averaged 23.83 ppg 6 dimes 5.66 rpg and only 2 turnovers per game.
James Jones has been pretty influential in a few of those wins too. A lot of people might overlook that. He seems to be a bit of a fan favourite with some of the Blazers fans.
Travis Outlaw has pretty much come back from the dead. I honestly was thinking he was gonna be another high school player that was gonna just end up on the scrap heap. Instead he has been massive in the 6 win streak that the Trailblazers currently sit on.
There have been a few cameo performances, notably Martell Websters career high points in amongst those wins. Good to see a team that has been down the bottom for a few years starting to rise though.
On the other side you have the Jazz. Okur is now out injured which will be a massive loss. He is undergoing a MRI to find out the extent of his injured shoulder. 3 of the 6 losses have been to top teams so you gotta take that into account.
utah's offense has dropped significantly the past few weeks...they were the best offensive team in the league, i think they were averaging about the 110ppg mark, better than phoenix even.
