Well just ordered my first pair from Mr P
Will hopefully start adding to the collection shortly and head down to kicks101 later this month to check out whats on offer
Also anything import I should know about this whole shoe collecting thing? tips...etc
Cheers for the advice mateBuy only what you like, don't get caught up in the hype.
haha, don't think I will be buying anything that old lolOne easy tip; Don't buy anything over 15 years old if you expect to wear it. Often, the glue used in the soles and sometimes the sole itself deteriorates and can cause the sole to come apart fairly quickly with casual use.
Yeah not sure at all mate haha.....just the ones I like I guessWhat are you looking at collecting ?
Most jordans will hold or increase in value
As demand will usually outstrips suply
Lebrons are definitely way more popular in the usa than here so there will always be an easier shoe to find also some good prices going around on 10s atm
Foams seem to do alright too
My mate collects reeboks he seems to enjoy that
Very true mate, this hobby will just be the same as cards for me. Have loads of fun and watch the collection growMy advice is don't get into collecting for the chance to make money, do it because you like the kicks! You'll enjoy the hobby a lot more!
Anyone? Also do they actual shoes go funny after time If just kept in the box?
Wow thats unreal mate!
That was my sneaker room nearly 2yrs ago... It's now a nurseryand most of what you see there has been boxed and is in storage. My kicks are mainly from 2000-2008 with maybe 80% being deadstock and about 50 pairs in rotation (enough to keep me going for a while LOL)!
Of the DS boxed pairs I've noticed yellowing on maybe 2 of them around the midsole but it really depends on each particular model's makeup/material. If they're kept in a cool, dark environment then I reckon a pair is good for 5+ years unworn... As has been mentioned though, outsoles can seperate and midsoles disintegrate on some older examples.
I've been meaning to sell most of my sneaker collection off, but have been pretty lazy about it... I've just lost the passion and space unfortunately
If anyone's interested here's a link to the album containing most of them, lots of AF, SB, Jordan's, Air Max, QS/HS and a heap of unreleased samples ranging from SZ 9-11US. Hit me up via PM for details
Here's one for the Lebron fans...

Wow thats unreal mate!
Just a few questions.
How long did it take you to gain so many shoes?
also...If they start going funny like you said the soles coming apart ect does this make them worthless? ...anyway to prevent this?
Not only an insane card collection, also an insane kick collection! The gold ones pictured are the best looking shoes I've ever seenHow much would they sell for?
Thank you Tom! Unfortunately when I get into a hobby, I really get into a hobby
The gold shoes are an unreleased laser-etched Lebron Zoom Generation 1 from around 2006-07. Collectors went bananas for them when the pics were leaked! Of an estimated 8 pairs in existence, 2 sample pairs made it to Australia and the Pacific region... one was sold to a collector back in the US FOR $2k in 2008, I've got the other pair still in my possession... Will trade for a nice Exq MJ patch auto lol!
Oh right I get you!!Thanks mate, I was an official sneakerhead for 7-8 years hahaha (worked in various roles at Nike) - then I started running out of space and interest. And of course I rediscovered cards lol!!
The only way to prevent these kicks from breaking down is to wear them! I've seen 25+ yr old pairs of shoes with regular use still in good nick with no obvious signs of disintegration (though alot of the breakdown of materials is unseen). Of course there are some pairs that will never see the light of day, so you'll never know if it'll fall apart on the first wear...

Wow! That's crazy, ever worn them before?
Oh right I get you!!
So you can have them sitting for ten years in a dark cupboard and if they start to break down they wont be noticeable??
Just really want to build my collection and dont want to spend all this $$ and the shoes start falling apart
