being reported again -ESPN reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers are actively shopping second-year shooting guard Dion Waiters, with the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers the teams known to have been targets of their inquiries so far.The respective targets are Iman Shumpert, Luol Deng and Evan Turner, however it is believed that Cleveland has reached out to other clubs as well.Waiters, whom the Cavaliers drafted with the No. 4 pick in 2012, has a contentious relationship with several teammates, including star point guard Kyrie Irving, and reports say he is open to being traded and, although he has not demanded a trade, he brought up the subject in a three-hour meeting last week with coach Mike Brown and general manager Chris Grant.

Dion Waiters reportedly called out Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson, wants trade
November 27, 2013 By Larry Brown Leave a Comment
The Cleveland Cavaliers are shopping last year’s No. 4 overall pick Dion Waiters at the player’s suggestion, because he is not getting along with some of his teammates and seemingly wants a new team, according to a report.
ESPN’s Chris Broussard says the Cavs are actively shopping Waiters and have contacted multiple teams about potential trades. Waiters supposedly has a “contentious” relationship with several teammates and even suggested in a meeting with his coach and GM last week that they trade him.
According to Broussard, Waiters called out Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson during a players-only meeting recently. The meeting was called by Irving, a former Rookie of the Year, whom Waiters accused of playing buddy ball with Thompson and not passing to Waiters.
There seems to be friction between Waiters and Irving. Waiters reportedly views Irving as someone who’s been allowed to get away with things like loafing defensively, turnovers, and taking bad shots that other players could not get away with.
Waiters averaged 14.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game as a rookie last year. He’s only shooting 38.9 percent this season and is averaging 13 points in 27.7 minutes per game. If the team allows Irving more leeway, it’s because he is closer to being a star player than Waiters. The only thing is the Cavs would be wise to treat Irving with more discipline; it would be better for the player long term.

Waiters said before Wednesday’s game he hasn’t asked to be traded. “I don’t know what is going on,” he said. “I can only control what I can control.” He disputed the reported “three-hour meeting” he supposedly had with Cavs general manager Chris Grant. "That’s nonsense,” he said. He said he doesn’t want to be traded anywhere. “I’m happy,” Waiters said. “I’m not happy we’re losing. But I’m happy here.” News-Herald - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.l8ms7LKL.dpuf

Former Knick and Net Shawne Williams said he can foresee the Kobe-Melo hookup. “I can imagine ’cause I believe that he’s one of Kobe’s good friends,” Williams said. “And I believe that Melo is one them guys that probably needs Kobe. Just the mentality, just to rub off on him, because Kobe has a crazy mentality and a crazy work ethic.
