Official 2012-13 NBA Regular Season Thread. SPOILERS

I think the Lakers are being underestimated because of their 0-8 preseason. I know many have picked them to come up against the Heat in the finals, but I can't see the Heat winning! The biggest weakness on the Heat is their inside presence, or lack of. And the will need to somehow defend Howard and Gasol? No chance!

They will be relying on the 3 ball whenever they play a team with a good front court, and you don't want that in a 7 game series! Live by the 3, die by the 3!

My tips, if it ends up Lakers vs Heat, then Lakers in 6!
 
I was pretty impressed with Cleveland today - especially Waiters. The bench was poor. Miles had an extremely poor game. He won't usually play that bad, plus I think Zeller showed enough to show that he will be extremely handy off the bench this season.

Varejao 9, 23 and 9 with 12 o-reb - Very nice line
 
Good for Ray Allen to have 19 in his first game back against Boston. I hope he does well in Miami.


Kyrie and Varejao killed it today too. Beal was a bit disappointing but will be better when he's playing with John Wall and not A.J. Price.
 
Wow talk about horrible ft shooting! I know Dwight is bad but the Lakers are 12 - 31 at 38.7% and Dwight is 3 - 14, maybe they should get Shaq to teach him. Hill also having a shocker from the line shooting 1 - 6 ft's. Not gonna win to many games shooting it like that!

Dwight fouled out which included 3 offensive fouls. He finished with 19 p, 10 reb and 1 block.

Hate to say it but its looking like a habit of the Lakers so far in their 9 games to really drop off in the second half.
 
Looks like my man Dwight's gone and got himself a Triple double in the first game for the Lakers!!

19pts, 10reb & 11 missed Ft's and then decided he would leave the rest of the work to his team mates and promptly sat out the last 2 min with 6 PF......
 
Must admit the Mavs looked good today, nice scoring spread and everyone got their shots. 6 players in double digits. LA only had Dwight 8/12 from the field, Gasol 8/19 and Kobe 11/14 but got no offence from anyone else.

They have no one else to get offense out of... Nash, Artest, Jamison & Blake are way past their prime aside from that who they got Jordan Hill & Jodie Meeks? Good luck with that.

They are going to need to rely Kobe, Pau and Dwight. And 3 guys don't win a title.

I have just finished my hearty lunch of 'my words', but I still stand by it. As soon as Dwight and Pau learn to play together instead of on top of each other, they will be great!


But Dallas was nucking futs!! Brand, Collison, Wright, Mayo all played WELL together! And it wasn't just Dirk missing, but Kaman too!

Yeh on paper I thought the Mavs were goners! I mean who would expect Brand, Curry and weedy Wright to match up against Dwight and Gasol?

You are going to honestly say that you believe a 35-year old Kobe, 26-year old Dwight and a 32-year old Pau are a better trio than a 27-year old (best player in the world) LeBron James, 30-year old Dwyane Wade and a surprisingly young (considering he's part dinosaur) Chris Bosh?

Kobe is well past and is, currently, not as good as Dwyane Wade, Bosh is better than Pau and LeBron and Dwight are tough to compare one being a C and the other having the ability to play all 4 other positions, but last time I checked LeBron has 3 MVPs, 2 Gold Medals, 1 Finals MVP and a Ring and Dwight has a couple of DPOY awards?
 
Great win Mavs! Thought we had a chance before the game due to Lakers being 0-8 in the preseason and also the fact that they hadn't really played together as a whole team of Kobe, Dwight, Nash, Gasol, Metta on the court. Our second half in particular was great, heaps of guys in double figures and we finished off the last quarter well. Was a good tactic to foul Dwight and let him shoot free throws lol.

Hope we can get some quality minutes out of guys like Collison, Mayo, Brand etc. this season and we should have a pretty decent team once Dirk and Kaman are back and have some games under their belts.
