whats with all the walkouts?
the thing is modric has never said he wants to leave. his agent has said IF spurs agree to a fee, hes open to the idea. and spurs have been adament hes going nowhere. its not like they need the cash?
fergie just buys blindly tho. berba is still relatively new and now hes ditching him for no other reason than to try and get the new hot pick. all he does is buy already proven players. very uninspiring.
Tell me about it!
In defence of Sir Alex, he does pick up some good young talent before the other big clubs know about them! Talking about Hernandez and C.Ronaldo/Valencia to a smaller extent... along with a stack of other players!
I can justify SAF for thinking of ditching Berba, here they are.
Firstly, his work ethic isn't great, lets be honest. Compare his work ethic to Chicha and Rooney who you'll see running 90% of the day..
Secondly, i also think he wants to get rid of him because he won't get regular football with Hernandez there who's head is in the game and hearts at Manchester United (after 1 season) but i think SAF in this cash should do 1 of 2 things. 1. Buy a world class striker to partner Rooney, Chicha can bench. 2. Buy a young striker who has established himself- Lukaku is one that i can think of off the top of my head.. Would prefer to see Hernandez getting gametime and also the money needs to be focused on Midfield not Attack so option 2 is favoured by myself...
Thirdly, simply not in his plans.
he looks lazier than he is. and option 1 is what youve got now? unless you dont rate berba as world class...
not saying it would be a bad move, just that fergie is a boob in the transfer market. he DOES NOT find young talent. chicarito was already playing for mexico. ronaldo was on everyones radar and wouldve been at arsenal if wnger decided to spend more cash, and valencia had been playing in the epl for two years already. any legitimate young talent has come through the youth squad which fergie has squat to do with.
hes been a lucky manager. handed a great team early on. before that he couldnt win anything. took him 8 years for his first trophy, and then he won with a team that even i could have managed to victory. since then he just buys whats already obvious.
im just bitter because its worked out for him...

at least it looks as though he'll stay in london.
but somehow i get the feeling spurs still wont let him go...
United signed Hernandez before the World Cup, he was virtually unknown before he stared for Mexico at the WC!

Is that your only go at him?? I woulda thought you'd turn the hairdryer on for all that bagging of Taggart. Do u agree with the rest??

Thats pretty dumb analysis. If Ronaldo was on everyones radar how did Man U pick him u for next to nothing. What about Vidic - was that a dumb buy? How about all the players he has produced out of the academy?? He has rebulit this team a number of times and has never had to go stupid spending like Chelsea or Man City. ANY team in the world would take him today in a heart beat at their manager.
errr, i never said he made dumb buys? just that he doesnt find young talent.
ronaldo was 12mill. in hind-sight thats cheap, but quite a few other clubs were in the chase for him, including arsenal, who actually saw him first, but refused to spend that much on him. 12 mill is hardly next to nothing and not even fergie knew ronaldo would turn into what he did.
are you telling me you hadnt heard of cristiano before he got to manutd?
and fergie doesnt pick the players that go in or come out the academy. no manager does.
he rebuilt the team a few times, but once again, i never said he makes stoopid buys. just uninspired ones. vidic was a great buy. rio, berba, rooney, park + the others. all good buys.
he might not spend as much as chelsea or city, but he was spending big well before those teams came into their money. he spent more than any other epl team during the 90s. not as much as teams today, but the market has changed. ruud, veron, rio all broke some sort of transfer record. and now if de gea comes he'll have the most expensive GK ever.
once again, never said he makes dumb buys. not sure where you got that from?

ba is gone. off to newcastle...
wonder if the geordies are happy with ba instead of nolan? i would be...
and for all my anti-united banter, youre right warney. theres no denying theyre a great team...
Buffon is the Most Expensive at the moment at 30 million.. De Gea will be 20m at the most..
We have ignored one team.. Perth Glory, looking good with around 10 signings!
please explain what you are trying to say. i'm lost
No surprise there...Sgt pepper had a go at SAF on about 4 fronts and the only thing u picked him up on was Hernandez, hence me saying did u agree with the rest.
Do u always wink at people when you're lost?? (creepy)
OT - Looks like Vieira might be staying on at City as a coach.

over. as predicted.
altho chelsea have said they plan on cleaning house and replacing with new blood. lamps & essien are getting on a bit now...terry's name was also thrown about, as was drogba.
On a side issue here is Liverpool's new away strip. Remind you of some crosstown rivals???
