As someone who has sold a lot on EBay the last few years it appears that the off season is the time when prices fall on auctions and as a result I have tried to avoid listing stuff in this time. Is this the case? I am wondering as I have a decent amount of stuff to offload but dont want to get lowballed.
This IS the case generally with low end cards. As there is no games at present to build hype, prices fall. I'm usually on the hunt for bargains this time of year as ppl rein in their spending with xmas too. If you can hold out till March, you'll prob get a little more IMO
yeah well Im really only looking at AFL stuff which I will hold onto until March-April. Last year I bought a Dal Santo sig in the offseason and sold it for more than double what I paid, stuff like that makes you play it smart and be patient. if only we had footy all year round!

Are you sure about that? That 63 set sold for $8000 odd (with shilled bids) and you said the 63 set is worth $50,000. Even taking condition into account it's a long way short. You don't think time of year kept the price down?

I think the prices are down at the moment. Adoniis set was in good condition but not any condition that I would buy them in especially as he listed them as mint. I cannot remember making a comment about the 63 scanlens being worth $50000 I would think you would have rocks in your head if anyone would think they would be worth that even if they where like new. Maybe an unopened box
Even collectors have an off season........some higher end, rare and older items seem to always get a good price no matter when listed (within reason) while more common stuff seems to be good value in the off season. That said I don't list anything on Ebay this time of year.
