NRL Stars Best Cards?

Was having a chat about this with a fellow NRL collector recently, what are THE key cards for today's current NRL Superstars?

In sports like the NBA/NFL etc each player has a key card that people chase for that particular player. For Michael Jordan its usually his 86/87 Fleer Rookie Card or for Lebron James its his Exquisite Auto/Patch Rookie Card.

For the NRL what are the key cards for players like Greg Inglis, Cameron Smith, Paul Gallen, Jonathan Thurston etc.

For Paul Gallen is it his Future Force auto card? Is it his Dynasty League Leader Black or is it another signature card?

Anyone care to share what the best card is for specific players on their team?

Cheers
Matt

For mine, Andrew Johns:

1. 2001 All Star Signature Redemption
2. 2004 Captain Signature Redemption
3. 2006 Gold Signature Tazo
4. 2006 Record Breaker Redemption

Some pretty amazing cards there..... which is your pick for THE must have?

Cheers
Matt

Darren Lockyer (In no particular order):
2003 Select NRL XL Jersey Signature Card Redemption
2009 Select NRL Classic Captain Signature Redemption
2012 Select NRL Dynasty Tribute Signature Redemption

Would absolutely kill to get my hands on some of them... I have always seemed each year to pull the other ones to Lockyer haha,

Wally Lewis
2014 ESP Traders Legends Signature /208
Just beats his
2008 Select Centenary Immortal Redemption Signature /125

just my opinion, I have only seen them both briefly in person but the 2014 card seems to have a classic feel to it plus his in the Aussie jersey so it may appeal to more collectors

Cowboys.

Thurston/Scott 2012 Dynasty LLB (50)

Thurston 2009 Classic Captain (50)

There's all the other high end signature cards..... But the captain takes the cake... Still original signatures unlike the new quick one he does......

These two cards.... Just based simply on "rare" numbers. I have the signature tazos.... But they've never been able to float my boat, so to speak....

Warriors: ahem.....um........er.......

I know the 2004 Betham captain signature was high end, but not really a top player....apart from that................................20 years of no love

Or I could go with with the Viliami Kaveinga (never even played U20s after the card's release) Future Star

Seriously though, my favourite Warriors cards would be the Scanlens retro releases (LOVE that set)

Best players to play in Warriors colours - Lauiti'iti, Jones, Price, Wiki, Campion = nada signature cards

Would the Johnson League sensation be one of the better Warriors cards released?

Yes...promising player, but a bit sad after 20 years.

Mannering black /50
Betham Captain /40
SJ Top Prospect and LS (hoping that these will be gold in time, because I've stockpiled a fair few)
Scanlens 2003, 2009
A Greg Alexander 'mercenary' acetate (now hates the Warriors with a passion)

but after that...

Does anyone know the basis for Alexander's hate?

He seems to hate the Raiders too. I am just basing that on the way he commentates on their matches. I believe that he has a long running feud with Stuart but it could stem back to the rivalry between Canberra and Penrith in the early 90's

any numbered 36.

LOL, you are a trier, David. My Mannering gold is 36, but it is beautifully signed by Simon in his 200th game. My Britt Future Star is 36, if you had anything interesting to trade I'd consider it, but don't have any real desire to move it on.

Hayden, you are really pulling the fellow Warrior fan heart strings there, I'm looking for more rather than giving them away. Maybe we can talk after the release of Elite with a possible trade?!
