Carney will be in some sought of trouble soon enough he is just that stupid he doesnt get it A good signing for the Sharks but i dont see him lasting out his time there and i dont see them ending there drought anytime soon

true enough, time will tell but he does have time on his side in terms of age. i would have been extremely disappointed if we had gone for a real dud option like matt orford, lol. and in terms of the drought,yeah its a big call for those who think he's going to end it, we're just happy to play finals football. we'll leave all of the dreaming of winning premierships every year with inadequate squads to the roosters and dragons fans and laugh at their torment.

With or without Carney we will be finishing above the Raiders.

Matt orford wasnt just a dud he was the worst buy in raiders History!!! but all teams have done it even your Sharkies have had a dud buy or 2

lol fergo he was shopped around by the raiders to a lot of clubs and no one wanted him so hence why he re-signed with the raiders

Kiwi coup: Roosters snap up star junior

The Sydney Roosters have pulled off a recruitment coup, snaring in-demand New Zealand schoolboy Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
Hot on the heels of the club signing 22-year-old Parramatta five-eighth Daniel Mortimer, the Roosters snuck under the guard of rivals to grab the highly rated 18-year-old fullback/winger.
Tuivasa-Sheck has starred in both rugby codes at schoolboy level and recently represented New Zealand's national schoolboy rugby union team against the Australian schoolboys.

Roosters recruitment officer Peter O'Sullivan was pleased Tuivasa-Sheck, who has signed a two-year deal, shunned offers from rival NRL and Super Rugby sides to link with the Bondi-based club.
"It's very exciting for the NRL and rugby league that Roger has decided to pursue a career in our game, as he has a great passion for rugby league," O'Sullivan said.
"Roger possesses brilliant footwork and speed and with the interest in him from other NRL clubs and the Auckland Blues, this is a real coup for the Roosters."

Just another player that wont reach his potential under Brian Smith and will end up out the door in a couple years.

Storm sign Ryles

Melbourne have confirmed the signing of former Test prop Jason Ryles for the 2012 NRL season.

The 32-year-old former Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra forward, who also had a stint with French Super League side Catalans, has signed a one-year deal with the Storm.

Ryles was released from the final year of his contract with the Roosters and his widely tipped move continues Storm coach Craig Bellamy's willingness to recycle experienced forwards.

He signed veterans Brian Norrie, Jaiman Lowe, Troy Thompson and Adam Woolnough in the wake of the club's 2010 salary cap scandal, with the quartet helping the Storm to the minor premiership this season.

"We were looking for an experienced front-rower to complete our front row roster and when we heard Jason was available we moved quickly to secure his signature," Storm football operations manager Frank Ponissi said.

"Melbourne Storm has a strong record of signing experienced front-rowers to play alongside a number of specifically earmarked development players to create a well balanced playing list.

"The most important factor with Jason was his desire to play with Melbourne Storm and our key staff have been extremely impressed with his attitude."

Ryles said the chance to play under former NSW State of Origin coach Bellamy was a major factor in his decision.

"Melbourne offers another wonderful opportunity and I'm excited about the chance to work with a number of influential people via a proven system," Ryles said.

"Having been coached by Craig Bellamy at representative level over a number of years, I have always wanted to be coached by him at club level."

ryles will be a machine down there in melbourne i know it. bellamy will fill his head with the brain he currently doesnt have and he will become a freak. he will play rep footy again im sure of it.

I don't think he'd actually sit out a year, i just think he is trying to make it clear where he wants to be to try and influence the NRL's decision (and maybe the Dragons decision to pursue the matter)

the story re Moltzen has no direct quotes from him, either way, imho what ever the outcome he will play for the tigers, if we win he will be asked if he wants to come, if not we will seek compensation from the the tigers / moltzen, at the end of the day he is acting like a spoilt brat, no one twisted his arm or put a gun to his head to sign with us....
