NRL Rumour Mill Thread (Spoilers/Game Results)

Raider Jarrad Kennedy has been released from the final year of his contract in order for the second-rower to take up an opportunity at another NRL club. It’s understood that club is the Manly Sea Eagles.

Good move for him he looked likely not to be getting much NRL game time this year

Quite ironic how it works out. Mitch Barnett couldn't really crack the NRL side and was NSW Cup / Intrust player of the year 2015, went to knights. JK was player of the comp for 2016 now he has gone. Both really solid players who are worthy of playing in the NRL so good luck to JK as he has been a great club man and scored that fantastic golden point try in the inaugural 2008 Toyota Cup GF.

It is great to have depth, nearly essential to win a comp but the other flip side is that when your top 17 are doing well and injury free the fringe players go elsewhere which really puts you back to square one.

It says on our website "he will continue to train and is not in any danger of missing any football in 2017."

Here's hoping.

It's time the NRL brought in an injured list so you can allocate partial salary cap to a replacement player for long term injured players.

Drew Hutchinson injures acl at training and is out for most of the season.

Saints fans who would you rather Todd carney or Chris sandow??

Neither...

It's a blow but when one door closes another opens. McCrone is steady and an organiser but may lack flair, Kurt Mann well maybe, but I'll be interested to see if they look at Shaun Nona

I think the Eels were 'mathematically rated' as having the best draw in 2017 based on the 2016 top 8
Was the dogs, as long as we keep the effort from 2016 going forward we will be ok going forward.

BA has changed the culture of the eels in the time he has been there and we don't have a soft underbelly that we had for so many seasons when the going got tough

I am tipping another very close comp with 12-13 teams a big chance of making the top 6
I'm with you on that one.

Will be interesting for sure, I'm thinking manly, saints, tigers, knights and dragons will struggle.

But things change very quickly and once a team gets momentum it's hard to stop

Knights will definitely struggle but give that team a couple of hard years and they climb off the canvas.

Manly, yeah I think they will also struggle despite the fact they gave several game breakers.

Saints attack will again be there downfall. Just lost Hutchinson for the season but if there forwards aim up they do have a bit of strike. Vaughan is a great pickup although they are paying overs, Frizell is a beast, Leilua looks like a good impact player also.

Tigers can out score anyone on their day but just seem to be so inconsistent.

Massive question marks over the dogs as well as they need a gameplan overhaul, they have tried to do the exact same thing since about 2014.

A side going into a new season with massive question marks over their coach is a position that doesn't usually work out too well either
