ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — On an electricity-filled Saturday night inside the Golden Nugget Casino’s Haven Night Club, Panini America’s fifth annual National VIP Party unfolded amid considerable pomp and circumstance as more than 200 special guests basked in the brilliance of a fantasy come to life.
Bolstered by some of the sports world’s biggest stars — including Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, football legend Lawrence Taylor, NBA icons Allen Iverson, Scottie Pippen and Shawn Kemp, and NASCAR rookie Chase Elliott — and a soundtrack provided by DJ Clark Kent, Panini America’s 2016 National VIP Party definitely provided memories aplenty and a night that will be remembered forever.
It was Mr. October who unexpectedly jumped into Clark Kent’s DJ booth for an impromptu freestyle dance that had party-goers riveted. It was Iverson, moved to his own groove by a Michael Jackson track, who patiently posed for pictures with one guest after another. Elliott sashayed like a seasoned vet through a box break of 2016 Prizm NASCAR Racing, then spent some time meeting some of his fellow VIP superstars before mingling with special guests. Pippen, LT and Kemp, well, they were lives of the party with their own unique brand of engagement.
All the while, Panini America’s most passionate customers and business partners were enjoying good food, good times, Gold Packs, Black Boxes and unforgettable camaraderie on a night that provided the rare opportunity to spend quality time rubbing elbows and exchanging stories with some of their sports heroes.
Those heroes did not disappoint. Luckily for us, photographer Doug Kapustin was there to document the memorable night for Panini America.
In the gallery that follows we showcase some of Kapustin’s work. Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of the 2016 National VIP Party, including a must-see highlight video featuring interviews with all of the VIP guests. Until then, here’s a look at the night in pictures.
